22.01.2022 I was pulled from my field, from my work, from my play, Ne'er again to see England, in lands far away, Through death and destruction, through blood sweat and tears, I carried my master, along with my peers, So I ask you to remember a while,... Along with the soldiers, in smart rank and file, Remember our beauty, the strength of our kind, As we galloped through danger, without care to mind, For we were the horses thrust into war, And we gave up our lives for your peace evermore. The War Horse, 1914 - 1918

19.01.2022 Lest We Forget 11.11.2020

18.01.2022 Thursday, the Sun turned it on for us to be in Ballan working with untouched horses which is an absolute joy and a privilege. The day progressed really very well with good progress being made in starting two out of the three on the right track and both were responding nicely by the days end and as a bonus we introduced the foal to handling also , we had a great day all up finishing two hours later than planned feeling tired satisfied and a bit sunburned! Thanks Dan , looking forward to the next session in November

15.01.2022 Kosi’s Odyssey. Kosi came to us about two years ago, maybe three I’ve lost track of time. We did his initial training naming him my Golden Horse , he was perfect in every way. One of those magic horses that you hear about but never get to see, I was very happy with him. Since that time things didn’t quite gel with Kosi and Cheryl, they just never got to fit together the way I expected they would and I watched from the sidelines seeing videos of them struggling to connect the ...way I had with him , I thought it would be a natural progression as it normally is but this time it didn’t happen. Something had to be done. We invited them both to come here for a few days. Day one was spent transporting Kosi and settling him in for the night. Day two, assessment we had to find out where he was at , he’d picked up a couple of bad habits but nothing terrible but he’d retained his initial training which is normal. After a brief session in the round yard we decided he was ready for the outside world. With Misty’s guidance Kosi successfully navigated his way through several hours of riding on country roads dealing with cars and motorcycles without ever raising an eyebrow, then off into the bush and the trails crossing a creek with relative ease. Cheryl had to learn quickly how to ride a quad bike to follow her boy , no crashes so that was a success. Day three: Repeat day two but this time with Cheryl actually riding Kosi for the first time ever outside of the round yard, Misty lead the way with Ruby. I tagged along at a distance with the bike. At the end of the day we had two tired and sore ladies, Ruby thought nothing of it , Kosi was very relaxed , so begins the next chapter for these two and we are looking forward to seeing them out and about together and maybe they’ll visit us again before winter. Never give up , your dreams may be closer than you think. Congratulations Cheryl and Kosi See more

15.01.2022 More from Kosi and Cheryl, doesn’t look like much but everything is a first and both are handling it as it happens without any fuss

11.01.2022 How do horses make you feel

10.01.2022 Busted having a sneaky feed , I don’t know how long she was in the shed yesterday but we were both surprised to see each other I could only smile and give her a hug, they broke the mould after making this girl.

09.01.2022 We have just spent four days in Jamieson working with this boy , Amhlaidh.....pronounced something like Awrlee ....I tried. Also his paddock mate Tommy, much easier! Amhlaidh an 8 year old Clydesdale with some ground work but unbroken, this boy has so many sides , quiet gentle giant interspersed with split second explosive activity thankfully short lived but at times unpredictable, The mission, to create the trust bond and educate him up to saddle in four days! Shown here i...mprovising girthing with a roller which we usually do with a bareback saddle pad that somehow got left behind, so sometimes you have to work with what you’ve got. This little spat was unexpected after two days of work but goes to show that you can never take your eye off of the ball. I’ll be posting more of this journey over the next few days See more

07.01.2022 Jamieson, tucked away in the hills is a beautiful spot . Horses take us places

05.01.2022 More from Jamieson, I think this was one of the most satisfying sessions I’ve had in quite a while. Amhlaidh was definitely a challenge, giving so many times and then going backwards for no apparent reason, he had me perplexed a few times and wondering if we would get through to him in the time available causing us to think outside of the box and use different approaches and finally he turned into a beautiful big softie, facing many challenging situations once out of his paddock facing children and dogs , traffic including crossing a busy bridge over the Jamieson river and a walk into town without as much as a flinch, amazing progress in a few days.

05.01.2022 Congratulations Misty and Roobs
