02.01.2022 The Victorian Socialists condemn Sky News for giving Blair Cottrell, a neo-Nazi who has argued that a picture of Hitler should hang in every classroom, a platfo...rm to spew his racist hate speech. This is yet another dangerous step in the normalisation of the far-right who threaten the safety of migrants, muslims and basic democratic rights. The far-right bleat about 'free speech' being denied, while the reality is that the mainstream media facilitate their rise. It is left-wing voices that stand up to racism, defend migrants and work towards working class unity, that are marginalised by Sky News and the rest of the mainstream press. We call on Sky News to put Stephen Jolly on to give voice to anti-fascists and anti-racists in our community who understand that fascism needs to be fought not coddled.
