21.01.2022 RESERVE BANK INFORMATION At its meeting tuesday, the Board decided to leave the cash rate unchanged at 2.25 per cent. Growth in the global economy continued at a moderate pace in 2014. A similar performance is expected by most observers in 2015, with the US economy continuing to strengthen, even as China’s growth slows a little from last year’s outcome. At tuesday’s meeting the Board judged that, having eased monetary policy at the previous meeting, it was appropriate to hold interest rates steady for the time being. Further easing of policy may be appropriate over the period ahead, in order to foster sustainable growth in demand and inflation consistent with the target. With current interest rates at record lows, now is a good time to consider your buying or refinancing options

15.01.2022 The Reserve Bank of Australia has held the official cash rate steady at its September board meeting following recent global sharemarket turmoil. Economists are continuing to predict a cut to the rate at the November meeting on Melbourne Cup Day.

14.01.2022 The RBA has left the official cash rate on hold at its meeting this month stating "the prospects for an improvement in economic conditions had firmed a little over recent months and that leaving the cash rate unchanged was appropriate". Further cut to the rates next year is still a favoured possibility.

12.01.2022 The RBA opted to hold rates steady at 2% for the 11th consecutive month at today's meeting. A cut in the near future still remains a distinct possibility with mixed economic performance and a significantly higher Australian dollar. Housing markets continue to show robust activity despite tighter lending conditions being imposed.

11.01.2022 The RBA have kept official interest rates on hold again - with no movement since August 2016. Economists continue to predict cuts later in the year due to slow economic growth.

11.01.2022 Have you been hit by the latest rate increases? - Rival banks are following the lead of Westpac's interest rate hike independently of the Reserve Bank as they look to pass on extra costs to customers. Don't get stuck paying more than you need to! "It's true that the smaller banks won't push up rates, because they're not affected by the new tougher capital requirements, but that doesn't much worry the big four. They figured out long ago that most of us don't change banks, even when we should."

11.01.2022 What will interest rates do? This morning on the ABC we see Financial Advisors saying with Inflation at an estimated 1.6% it may bring a 0.25% reduction in th...e official interest rates of the RBA. This should see interest rates not move upwards till either late 2018 or even 2019 according to the ABC financial adviser. See more

11.01.2022 As widely expected, the RBA opted to leave rates on hold at its July meeting, with Australia still in political limbo as the country awaits the outcome of last Saturday’s inconclusive election cliffhanger. An August rate cut is still being tipped by many of the experts.

08.01.2022 With the Reserve Bank set to meet tomorrow, here's fingers crossed for good news to all mortgage holders

08.01.2022 Friday funny...

08.01.2022 The RBA have cut the official cash rate to a record low 1.50%, shaving off 25 basis points at their monthly meeting this afternoon. Low inflation has prompted the cut. Of the major lenders, Commonwealth Bank responded first, announcing they will pass on 0.13 of the 0.25 cut, with NAB soon following suit announcing they will pass on 0.10

07.01.2022 After last month's rate cut dropping the official rate to a record low, it was no surprise that The Reserve Bank opted to keep rates on hold this month when they met earlier this week. There has been some positive signs with a reduction in the unemployment rate and a continuing upwards trend in house prices, but the stock market remains volatile and the economy somewhat unsteady. Economists are still predicting a further drop in rates in the second half of the year. Looking ...to get into the property market? With house prices on the rise, now is the time to strike! 06.01.2022 A stronger than expected inflation result and improvement in business confidence has encouraged the Reserve Bank of Australia to leave the official cash rate on hold at 2.5% for the sixth consecutive month. Home values continue to show an upward trend, rising an average of 1.2% over the month of January. It is expected the RBA will err on the side of caution and leave the cash rate untouched for the foreseeable future. Keen to buy, build, or invest? Not sure if you are on the best rate available? 04.01.2022 Will today bring another cut to the already record-low Reserve Bank of Australia interest rates? The money markets think so. ABC News reports that the markets are factoring in a 78 per cent chance that rates will be cut from the current 2.25 per cent, probably to 2 per cent.

04.01.2022 The Reserve Bank has again opted to leave interest rates on hold this month, stating the economy is holding steady and weathering the storm. Of positive note is the upswing in property investment and construction. There is conjecture over whether the rates will continue to remain steady over the rest of the year, with some still predicting a further cut.

02.01.2022 In its final meeting for 2013, The Reserve Bank as widely expected has decided to leave official interest rates on hold. Rates have now been steady for the past 4 months following the decision in August to cut rates to a 60 year low of 2.5 percent. Although unemployment continues to creep up, the dollar is easing and the housing market is performing strongly with an increase in building approvals and high auction clearance rates.
