25.01.2022 Lockdown Part II It was nice while it lasted! As Victoria prepares to go back into lockdown, we are forced to close our doors once more. The last 2.5 weeks have been incredible and we want to thank our members so much for their continued support I wish we’d been able to throw the thank you party, but it will have to wait ... Equipment will be available for lease, and membership options available to suit everyone. Thanks team Smit See more
25.01.2022 REMEMBER HOW FAR YOU’VE COME Thanks Jess for pointing out the back of the whiteboard this morning, which holds a lot of our members PB’s from 2 years ago . Each week, I hear a lot of comments and conversations with people who feel like they’re not progressing as fast as someone else, or they feel they should be lifting more.... It’s great to want more out of yourself, but don’t forget how far you’ve come. . Personally, I’ve only managed to beat a couple of these numbers in the last couple of years. I’m also a completely different person, and I’ve managed to kill off the parts of my self that weren’t serving me. Sometimes, numbers on a board don’t show your progression. . Happy hump day, take a big belly breath and remember you are in control See more
24.01.2022 Tomorrow’s Workout . Opa 4 rounds of: 8 pull-ups... 6 Monster Dumbbell 10 Dips . Your choice if you want to do strict or killing pull-ups/dips, or use a band for assistance. If you use a band then it just be strict movements. Monster Dumbbell should be touch and go for all 6 reps, choosing a weight that also allows you to get some reps on your weaker side. . I haven’t given this one a go yet, I’ll be using 55kg for the dumbbell, kipping pull-ups and strict dips See more
24.01.2022 Another 10 week Deadlift cycle in the books for most of our team! This morning Colin Deadlifted 165kg for a massive PB! . Col started with us halfway through our first Deadlift cycle, and maxed out at 135kg, missing 140kg. At the commencement of this cycle he’s added 30kg to his Deadlift!... Love seeing Col back in the gym One day I’ll ask him to share a little of his stories of back injuries, for some should find it quite inspiring . GO TEAM . #deadlift #pb #teamcolin #strongmangym #carrumdowns #strongmanaustralia See more

16.01.2022 Ever been told you and your beliefs are unessential? :not essential : DISPENSABLE, UNIMPORTANT . Humans were built to survive things like this. Believe it.... Act on it. Take ownership of your body. Your vessel. You know deep down what your body needs. I can be here to guide you. But you already know what you should be doing. Stay strong, Victorian’s. See more

12.01.2022 An extra workout for those who have a decently heavy Dumbbell . DUMBHELL 5 rounds of: 5 Dumbbell Push Press + 2 Split Jerks (each arm)... 10m Handstand Walk 10 Toes To Bar . Sub for a barbell if you do not have a decent size dumbbell. I used 30kg, and split jerking a Dumbbell is good fun Sub Handstand walk for a 30m bear crawl, or 10 second Handstand hood against a wall. Sub toes to bar for V-ups, but double the reps! Don’t complicate things, move well and get a bit sweaty . #strongmangym #carrumdowns #strongmanprogramming #crosslifting See more

08.01.2022 STEP BY STEP Lockdowns ruined my routine! . For years I found it easy to train 12+ hours per week, eat adequate protein and work towards my goals.... Since closing the gym back in March, I’ve found it hard to WANT to train, and haven’t tracked my food intake once . BUT Last week I hit my 6 planned training sessions, and this week I’ve started tracking my calories and weighing myself. . Please remember you do not have to get everything perfect at once Start with an exercise goal of training x amount per week, then focus on your nutrition once that habit has been set and you’re enjoying your training . For any Victorian’s struggling with the lockdown, I’ve found it helpful to get off social media, as seeing everyone else around the country (and even other parts of our state) training from gyms was NOT helping my . This will end, and it’s highly likely something other shit will happen that could derail your motivation, so best to learn these steps now so you can always pick yourself up out of a rut! . See more
07.01.2022 For years I stayed up watching YouTube videos about different rep ranges for strength, hypertrophy and speed. Up til midnight watching videos on anatomy and how ones femur length could dictate their squat stance. Hours of videos and articles on the right amount of protein at the right time, trialling softener diets myself for months at a time to gauge results. . The goal was always to get the most out of my body physically, and the reward would be a bunch of trophies and titl...es and great memories while competing. . Along the way I shared my knowledge with anyone who was interested, and learned how fantastic it felt to help someone achieve something or win something! . So I started coaching as a job, and have never looked back. Helping others achieve national titles and Aussie records or lose 10kg or competing for the first time ever! I love it and believe I always will! . The lockdown has affected all of us, and Victorians are still going through it. There are so many things I don’t know about the future. None of us know. We can only guess. . I’ve had to learn so much about my own mind lately, and about the human mind, and what it even might mean to be human! . I believe amazing things are possible for us in the future This gym will be a place of all things strength, not just the physical realms. The hours of videos are still being consumed. It has just branched off into a different realm of strength . Things aren’t going back to normal, and I’m choosing for them to be better than ever inside these walls. Pure strength, love and positivity for every person that chooses to step foot in here This lockdown won’t be for nothing! Can’t wait to see you all again. Smit See more
06.01.2022 38kg Log Press PB for Kaz Happy Saturday team thanks for another great week! #strongwomanaustralia #logpress #strongmangym #carrumdowns

05.01.2022 Well it was a fantastic 2 and bit weeks of regular gym training before we have been forced into another lockdown . I learned through the last lockdown that the online programming/home workouts worked well to keep myself in shape I managed an equal PB on my Axle Clean + Press and my deadlifts were climbing back up to where they were pre lockdown! .... I’m going to have to force myself to train at the moment! With the cold weather and no competitions to train for, I find it difficult to WANT to train right now, and I’ve been training regularly for over 10 years now . I know the quotes say that it takes a month for something to a habit, sometimes it takes even longer, maybe sometimes it never even happens You just keep showing up and doing YOUR best. . Beautiful day here in the suburbs I’m going to go for a couple of walks and pray this time only lasts 6 weeks See more
05.01.2022 I’ve always known how important the gym (any physical training) is for mental well being I’ve known how important it is for our overall health and longevity as human beings Although the gyms have been shut for 6 months here in a Victoria, the individual can still take it upon themselves to get some physical training done from home or on the streets As someone who’s trained religiously for 10 years now, I can tell you it’s been real fucking hard. .... Here’s some more honesty more a Sunday morning for ya. I was an only child with a creative mind, and never once can I remember craving being around people. I joined the gym in 2010 on my own, I left the normal gym for CrossFit on my own, and always enjoyed training on my own. I’ve worked in retail and have muttered the retail mantra of I hate people, many times I’ve always been ok on my own. I’m still ok. But others aren’t. Even I find myself seeking out conversations with strangers in the supermarkets and cafes, and feeling so much better after a phone call with a friend . We are energetic beings. We are social beings. They have done experiments that prove this. Even being in the gym with 4 people you barely know or talk to has a positive effect on your being We are all missing out on a VITAL part of human existence. The very old and the very young, die without human contact and love. For those of us in the middle of those two stages of life, we can only imagine what the lasting effects this is having on our minds, in particular young kids. . This is not a gym owner begging the premier to open gyms post. The decisions being made aren’t based on uproar I started as a PT to help people live and look better. I can only keep doing my job if people are alive and ok. So I will do whatever I can to help people. PLEASE message me if you’re struggling. Sending lots of love to everyone BUT MAINLY VICTORIANS See more
04.01.2022 I know there’s no real end in sight for this lockdown in Victoria. But we ARE one week closer to it. Thanks for everyone’s support during this second lockdown. I can’t wait to be able to throw you a party or at least shake your hand. To those leasing equipment, purchasing a program or utilising our online program, thank you for sticking with Vic Strength! This will end, and you WILL come out of it stronger
04.01.2022 Onya Rheb!! Hope you’re all training as well as you can in the Vic Lockdown Hopefully it’s all over soon
02.01.2022 Our first Saturday session in 3 months! Thanks for a great first week back team Thanks for keeping the gym clean and wiping down equipment, it’s been so great to see everyone again and hear all about how sore you are every single day Rest up tomorrow and be ready to attack Monday
01.01.2022 HAPPY SUNDAY I HOPE THIS MAKES YOU SMILE . Renae tried 107kg at the 6am class but couldn’t quite get it. Came back at 930 class and killed it .... Love these videos! When I first met Renae, her deadlift Max was 95 kg, and it took a little while to crack the 100. We’ve been able to decipher that the knee cave is more to the structure of her feet, rather than weak glutes, which is likely most people/coaches first guess. What we see as a Weakness can often just be an imbalance Well done R Lerm! . #deadlift #pb #strongwoman #strongmangym #carrumdowns #strongmanaustralia See more

01.01.2022 Quick full body burner for those looking for an extra workout on Saturday . 40kg/25kg for guys and girls familiar with these movements. Sub for goblet squats if you do not have a barbell. Go hard and try not to overthink it
