(Quality Animals results in many differing opinions, some classes the closest to Pat Nicholson have been awarded) 1st: Simon Tognola 2nd: Emily Robins... Judges Comments: Starting this class with an extremely angular, clean boned young cow with an outstanding udder, she uses that extreme angularity to place over the cow in second, a long bodied, clean front ended dairy cow. It’s that extra dairyness that places her over the cow in third. Third over fourth because she is longer bodied, with more height of rear udder. Fourth over fifth being more snugly attached in the udder and with more desirable pin setting, fifth over sixth as she shows more depth of body and more refinement through the front end.

(Quality Animals results in many differing opinions, some classes the closest to Pat Nicholson have been awarded) 1st: Ricky Nelson 2nd: Simon Tognola... Judges Comments: The winning cow displays great openness, high wide rear udder and a strong ligament, she uses her extra width through the front end and length to place of a very dairy sharp boned cow in second. Second over third a little smoother fore udder attachment, third over fourth a little more length and cleanness through the head and neck.

(Quality Animals results in many differing opinions, some classes the closest to Pat Nicholson have been awarded) 1st: Josh Blake 2nd: Jake Mathews... Judges Comments: Starting this class with the most balanced, angular, dairylike cow with a tremendous udder, she uses her fullness of fore udder to place over this tremendous framed cow in second. Second over third for her extra depth of body and capacity. Third over fourth because of her height of rear udder and overall length of body. Fourth over fifth because of extra bloom and width of rear udder. Fifth over sixth is more capacious, longer and more open of frame.

Judges Comments: The winning cow displays great length and cleanness with a strongly attached udder. Its that extra length and smoothness of rear udder that places her over second. Second over third for her extra width and strength. Third uses her balance and higher rear udder to place over fourth. Fourth over fifth for her snugness of udder attachment. Fifth over sixth as she displays more dairyness and openness throughout.

15.01.2022 After extensive consideration and with much sadness the Committee have had to make a call on the 2020 NHD Victorian Winter Fair and unfortunately it will be cancelled. Due to the current restrictions in place for public gatherings, along with the uncertainty of the timing around lifting those restrictions, it makes running this years event virtually impossible. At the end of the day we have to take into consideration what is in the best interest of public health, our exhibito...rs, our sponsors, all of the local businesses and service providers that help the Fair to run every year as well as the greater Bendigo community. The committee will now turn its attention to planning the 2021 NHD VWF.

Judges Comments: The winning heifer displays great balance, is open framed with good depth of body. She uses her extra maturity to place over second. Second over third is a little wider and stronger of her pasterns. Third over fourth for her extra depth of body. Fourth over fifth is longer and more refined. Fifth over sixth has more width, angle of shoulder and more desirable rear leg set.

Judges Comments: The first place heifer is very well balanced, displaying the most cleanness and angularity in the class. She uses this angularity to place over the second. Second over third is a little cleaner through the front end and stronger of her top. Third over fourth because of her openness and depth. Fourth over fifth as she’s a little longer of her neck and more correct through her rear legs. Fifth over sixth for her overall angularity and dairyness.
