23.01.2022 Today’s Time-warp Tuesday we meet the man behind the name of Geddes Street, Victoria Park. Cyril Arthur Geddes lived with his parents at 47 Berwick Street, Victoria Park, which was situated almost at the intersection with Geddes Street today. Cyril was a clerk in the civil service and was aged 26 when he enlisted in the AIF in September 1914. He was declared Killed in Action by court of inquiry at Gallipoli on 23 May 1915. Do you like a good mystery, a real puzzler, where you can look for clues and find the answers? Then we have something just for you. The Southern Gazette in partnership with Victoria Park Library’s Local History Collection will be presenting a monthly column called History Mysteries. Each month a photograph(s) or object from the Collection will be featured, these are items that we have little to no information about and are seeking assistance from members of the public to help solve the mystery. Future editions of History Mysteries will also report on any solved History Mysteries.
