23.01.2022 Did you know that red-tailed black cockatoos enter their nests backwards? But thats not the only distinctive thing about them! We think there are only about 1000 left in the wild in Australia, so protecting their breeding habitats is vital. If you were considering a development or any activity that may significantly impact upon this species or their habitat, you may need to refer your plans to @awegov for review under national environment law. 19.01.2022 Koalas are one of Australias most recognisable and famous animal inhabitants. But like so much of our native wildlife they depend on trees and undergrowth for their survival. But we all know nature sometimes need a helping hand and thats where we come in. Were responsible for protecting our environment and enforcing national environmental law. Not sure what that means for your proposed development? Check out the EPBC information kit to find out more. https://bit.ly/30VPWxv #koalas #envirolaw #nature
18.01.2022 Yerecoin Market Saturday 21st November 8.30am-1pm It’s that time of the year again and our annual Yerecoin Markets is just around the corner. We are all madly getting ready for this huge event that brings so many visitors into our small town.... If anyone has any spare time between now and Saturday 21st we would love a helping hand. Our town needs to be looking spic & span before the crowds arrive so we would appreciate if anyone has a spare 30 mins or more to help with weeding, racking and tidying up around the hall and along the kerbside of the main street. As the saying goes many hands make light work. If you are free, please just pick a spot you think needs some attention. Thanks for your help Yerecoin Progress Association

17.01.2022 This is Jocks Lagoon a small, freshwater depression behind coastal dunes in eastern Tasmania. It may look like a homely mud hole to you, but to the rare Jointed Twig Rush plant, its home sweet home. If youre planning a development, change in land use or activity that could significantly impact a site like this, check with @awegov as you may have a legal obligation to have your project assessed. It could save our environment, and you a lot of wasted time. Visit https://bit.ly/3jzSGJF #envirolaw #environment #Ramsar

11.01.2022 Good afternoon The State Government has this morning announced Regional Land Booster, a $116million package to drive new residential and industrial development and boost construction activity across Western Australia. The package applies to more than 1,000 lots at over 100 Development WA residential, industrial, commercial and tourist sites through a combination of repricing and other incentives.... Creating more affordable residential and industrial land will boost residential construction across the State, bringing local economic and employment growth to Western Australias property and construction sectors, and flow-on economic benefits to supporting businesses. The package will help support existing regional businesses seeking to expand their operations or new businesses looking for opportunities to establish in Western Australia. Regional Land Booster will help strengthen population growth in the regions by encouraging local residential construction, supporting local business, and incentivising larger commercial enterprises, such as hotel operators and bulky good businesses, to invest in regional locations. Along with the Regional Land Booster, the WA State Government and Federal Government have recently announced assistance for eligible residential purchasers through grants and concessions. Eastern states based FIFO workers can also take advantage of the grants, encouraging them to relocate to Western Australian regional towns permanently, supporting economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and helping our regions grow. Today, the package commences in the Pilbara, with all other regions rolling out in the coming weeks. Find out more at the Regional Land Booster website. https://developmentwa.com.au/booster

05.01.2022 On Wednesday 23 September it is the annual Dogs in Politics Day and we write to invite you to show your support for our favourite furry friends. A tradition stretching back almost 70 years, it is more important than ever to highlight and thank our canine companions for being there no matter what, especially after a tough year for Australians. Pets make the world a better place and those morning cuddles or that afternoon walk have seriously great, and scientifically proven, im...pacts on our lives and thats something that in 2020 we should celebrate. Mars Petcare is a major supporter of pet friendly policies and the difference such policies make to pets and the people who love them. This year Mars Petcare is supporting the day with the Keep Australia Pet Friendly campaign, with more information and advice on how to make your office or community pet friendly found at petpositives.com.au/keep-australia-pet-friendly How can you show support? In the week leading up to 23 September share a story about your dog, and ask colleagues and friends to post their own pet stories Share a photo with your pooch across social media using the #DogsInPoliticsDay and #KeepAusPetFriendly hashtags Dont have a dog? No problem show your support and comment on what you are doing to keep Australia pet friendly with #KeepAusPetFriendly Draw attention to the policy areas that you care about most Make your office pet friendly for the day or share a working from (pet-friendly) home story Pet friendly policies make Australia a better place and the more our local leaders like you take action, the better it is for all of us people and pets alike.
