23.01.2022 Congratulations to the students in the 'Wilson Whipper Snippers' (Yes, they get to choose their team names ) for being crowned the champions of the Year 3-4 Sport Program for Semester 1. They performed consistently well when competing against the 3 other teams in Sideline Soccer, Fast Pass, The Great Fitness Challenge and Mod T-Ball. More importantly, they scored bonus points each week for displaying the School Values - Be Respectful to Yourself, Others and Your Learning. Congratulations to the Wilson Whipper Snippers!

22.01.2022 Yesterday our 3/4 students dropped Christmas cards to our local community. Today we received a few in return. The true spirit of Christmas

22.01.2022 There will be a variety of feelings surrounding the return to on site learning. Please have a read through the following Tip Sheet from Relationships Australia. And touch base with Lisa, Jane or your child's teacher if you would like further support.

20.01.2022 It has been a great team effort so far! Keep sending in your bags and tags with your children.

19.01.2022 This morning our Principal Lisa spoke to all of our students via a live stream in preparation for our return to school on Monday. In addition to recognising some individuals, Lisa congratulated and thanked all of our wonderful students, staff and parents for the way in which they have 'conquered' remote learning. It is imperative that we recognise Lisa for the incredible way in which she has led our school community through an immensley unique and challenging time. With wonderful support from Jane, our Assistant Principal, as always, Lisa has committed her heart and soul (and sleep) to getting us all through this. The care, support and unwavering leadership that she has provided for the staff and our families is to be absolutely commended. Thanks for everything Lisa, We would not have gotten through all of this without you!

19.01.2022 Happy school holidays everyone! We hope you enjoy the sunshine and get lots of walks in :) We look forward to seeing you next term :)

17.01.2022 Our students are producing some outstanding work right up to the final siren. :-) Check out what Sam and Viola (Foundation), River (Year 1) and our Year 3-6 superstars have been up to.

16.01.2022 We would so love to have our parent community be able to attend our assemblies, but we are glad that we can at least share the recordings with you. Apologies for the camera angle. Our Grade 6s have come back super tall from remote learning, but unfortunately not tall enough to suit the angle of the camera this week. :-)

16.01.2022 Our Year 6’s are having a great day at Healesville Sanctuary!

16.01.2022 Oh and these two are back!

16.01.2022 After missing out on the opportunity to participate in a Winter Interschool Sport Season due to Covid, our Year 5/6s have taken part in a 4 week sports championship whereby each student represented a team throughout the entire competition, in either Volleyball, AFL, Soccer or Netball. Today was Grand Final Day and our teams were cheered on by the entire school which created a buzz around the school. Congratulations to the champion teams.

12.01.2022 Up, up and away! It has been a big year for you all and you have shown resilience, adaptability and determination. All the best to our Class of 2020!

11.01.2022 Hi there, We’re delighted to invite nominations and applications for the 2021 Commonwealth Bank Teaching Awards. Our goal is to recognise and reward educators who transform young students’ lives, even in the most challenging circumstances. Teachers who inspire, innovate, and go above and beyond to shape a brighter future for their students.... This year has already been one of the most challenging years for teachers and students in our lifetimes. Yet throughout all of the ups and downs and unexpected moments, many teachers have continued to shine. They’ve selflessly given their time and remained committed to creating a future for the next generation. That’s why we’re looking to recognise 12 more outstanding teachers and school leaders who’ve delivered transformative and measurable outcomes for their students. The chosen 12 will each receive a $45,000 Teaching Fellowship, which includes $10,000 to support their professional development, $25,000 for a school project to improve outcomes for their students and a group visit to a high-performing education system. If you know an outstanding educator, nominate them now. The value of their work inspires for a lifetime, but the chance to recognise and reward them closes on 16 October 2020. Good Luck! The Teaching Awards team Nominations can be made here: https://teachingawards.com.au

11.01.2022 Thank you to Rubie's Deerfield Costumes for providing our Prep-2's with Superhero 'eyes'! It's always a bit of fun to dress up :)

09.01.2022 Dear Parents, Don't forget to check out the Parent Portal for information about tomorrow, (Friday) our final day of the school year.

08.01.2022 Here is the recording of our Assembly from Friday 20th November. Adam's jugging performance is not to be missed. :-)

08.01.2022 Did you know that teabags contain plastic! With millions of tea bags being used every day that is a lot of extra plastic being put in our environment. Here at VRPS we are committed to reducing our impact, we use loose leaf tea with strainers. Have a think about how you could reduce your impact at home.

08.01.2022 Our final Assembly for Term 3 certainly had it all. Student of the Term Awards, Cyber Footy Day Cheer Squads and some amazing bottle flip tricks. A must watch this week! :-)

07.01.2022 Supporting your child with balancing screen time with non-screen time activities during school holiday periods is always a challenge and none more so than the approaching school holidays. Here is a resource that might be helpful courtesy of our friends at the 'Cyber Safety Project.' The Holiday Digital Balance Challenge aims to support young people to plan for technology use and self-managing their digital, with a focus on inspiring creativity and productivity rather than gaming. Zero screen time is another alternative to screen town overload! https://drive.google.com//1GDovdi8tSuOoCblRSgBtQGRkd/view

07.01.2022 If you haven't had a chance to check out our Virtual Christmas Concert this evening, sit down with your family tomorrow night, mirror it onto your TV and enjoy. The students did a wonderful job and congratulations Angela and Rachel (our fantastic Performing Arts Teachers) for putting this all together. Refer to the Sentral Parent Portal to access the link.

07.01.2022 Some great activities being led by our Year 5/6’s yesterday to support positive social interactions!

06.01.2022 If there are any expert sewers out there in the Victoria Road community who might be able to help to stitch small holes along the seam of a set of juggling balls (a box of approx 25), please let us know. They were hit with tennis racquets, which caused the little holes.

06.01.2022 Our school entry and corridor area now match beautifully with the rest of our amazing renovations, after being carpeted during the holidays. All that is needed is the children!!! We are certainly counting down for the 12th October as we are sure mums and dads are.

02.01.2022 Please see the latest News Sheet update from Lisa and Jane on Sentral.
