It will be a warm day across the state, although it will be cooler near the coast and hot about the northwest. "Forecasters have been monitoring the low-pressure system, which is linked to tropical moisture levels not seen for years.... Patchy fog will occur in the morning. Areas of rain will fall throughout the state before easing to showers from the west during the afternoon. Showers will then contract to the southern and mountain districts at night. There will also be a chance of thunderstorms over the central and eastern districts, contracting to the far northeast at night. Some moderate to heavy falls are possible across the northeast ranges. 16.01.2022 RAINFALL FORECAST 9/10 More rain is expected in the southern and eastern parts of the state tomorrow. About 15-25mm is expected to fall in west Gippsland and about 10-15mm could fall in the southern parts of the North East district.... The rest of Gippsland will be limited to some showers at a total of around 1-5mm. The South West and Central districts will also see around 1-5mm.
