23.01.2022 Post Lockdown Goals. Ninety Mile Beach is a continuous narrow strip of pristine sand stretching northeast from the shallow inlets near Port Albert to the wide-open waterways of Lakes Entrance. The beach sits at the edge of the Gippsland Lakes, the largest inland water system in the Southern Hemisphere. This is one of the most natural, isolated and untouched beaches in the world and is popular for surf fishing, swimming, camping and long beach walks. Fact: ... Ninety Mile Beach is actually closer to 94 miles or 151km in length. It is believed to be the fourth longest continuous beach in the world, behind Praia do Cassino on the Brazilian southern coast, Padre Island on USAs Gulf Coast and Eighty Mile Beach in Western Australia, which is really 140 miles (230 km) long. #visitvictoria #ninetymilebeach #gippsland #beach #hiking

20.01.2022 Post Lockdown Goals. Climb Victoria's highest mountain Mount Bogong (1,986m) is a big brute of a mountain. Its imposing presence was not lost on the local Yiatmathong clan who named it Bogong, meaning ‘Big Fella’. There’s no quick and easy way to the top. However, the route via the Eskdale Spur is a little easier than the demanding Staircase Spur Track as it starts further up the mountain at Camp Creek Gap. It’s still a challenging climb but once you reach the Bogong ...summit you can then extend the walk to the West Peak and spend more time on the plateau admiring the sensational views. #regionalvictoria #victoria #visitvictoria #mtbogong #walking #hiking #mountains #highcountry

11.01.2022 2020 has been a MASSIVE mountain to climb. It's R U OK? Day, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say after R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK.... There's more to say after R U OK? Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. When we know what to say next we can help someone open up and find pathways to support long before they're in crisis. Learn what to say next and help us move closer to our vision of a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide. Head to www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

09.01.2022 Over the past few years I’ve been busy travelling around Victoria; researching & writing two walking guide books. I was away from home a lot but some of the most memorable trips were with my family. Over time I’ve watched my kids (Lyra and Morrison) develop a love for bushwalking and exploring the great outdoors. ... Along the way they’ve spotted loads of wildlife, bugs, insects and birds. Although, we are still on the look-out for Drop Bears, Hoop Snakes and Swamp Bunyips!
