24.01.2022 Seriously, I have been busy, just let the busy get in the way of writing my blogs. Just sayin, got 3 weddings this weekend..........one on Saturday in Wanderin, one at Sandalford and one on Sunday at WA Golf Club in Yokine. Lordy, lordy...........

23.01.2022 Well hello there 2020, I wonder what this year will bring for both you and me.........well, for me, .......heading off into another year as a Celebrant. Have 5 weddings this month......starting with Mon and John, who will marry this Saturday, at Jack's place, in the Swan Valley, (her Dad's shack), which is an absolute collection of old machinery bits and memorabilia, (amazin) and then on Sunday James and Tempany, get themselves hitched at the Swan Shell in Burswood in an "elopment" style, ceremony. Cheers

23.01.2022 Wednesday of last week was the wedding day of the cheeky charmer, Vincent & Leah at Marlee Pavilion on just another beautiful mighty fine day in King's Park and the pretty City of Perth. My best wishes go with you both.

23.01.2022 You may have been thinking that I have been a bit quiet, but I have been quite busy, actually. Did a wedding a few weeks ago for the couple, Joel and Ariya, who were just getting married legally here in Oz, but getting married in Bali, next week. And, at a small winery, in the Hills above Perth, a place called, Fairbrossen, last Saturday, the 16 March, 2019, I married that Brady Bunch lovely couple, Kim and Chantal to each other. All the nearly adult kids were the couples at...tendants, so that made it easy. Chantal looked stunning arriving with her Dad, in his, souped up, Holden Senator. With 4 kids between them, their lives have been interesting, and you know when you stand in front of someone like me, .a Celebrant, you have to know, that it is the right time and things had just got a bit serious, .......and ultimately, finally and legally married. 23.01.2022 FROM MY DESK: As I embark on my 16th season and around 1400 marriages later, of being an Authorised Marriage Celebrant, here in Perth, WA, I just thought that I would recap on my last wedding of last season, for Dave and Karen, with some photos that they sent me. You may recall my previous blog on their wedding, that they had met as teenagers and even got engaged, but then moved on marrying other people and having children. And with the way technology has moved on they were able to reconnect and finally married each other on the 18 May, 2019, at the Left Bank in Freo. So some say, it is never too late to find your true love! Such is the case here!

21.01.2022 Absolutely..........I have been quiet on fb for while............but doesn't mean I haven't been working away...........travelled to the UK, to celebrate my mother-in-laws 99th birthday. A boat ride on the Thames! She is amazing! Drove to the north, .....Arbroath, in Scotland and down south to Mudeford and Poole. And stopped off at Sentosa Island, on the way back for a bit of well earnt R & R. Very busy time, but now time to get back on the horse. Just received an update from Wedding Diaries, putting me in the top 35 Impressive Celebrants in Perth, www.weddingdiaries.com.au/marriage-celebrants/wa/perth/. Rare air to get any industry peer kudos for my work as a Celebrant, as I do love doing it and appreciate what a privilege I have in doing it, but I will take it while it is given.......:

20.01.2022 On the road again: From time to time with my Bride & Grooms I come across a couple who probably appear quite different but when you dig a little deeper you find that they are pretty similar and are just a pair of dags, together, and probably are really quite well suited. Such is the case when I married Frank and Tracy at Neil McDougall Park in Como the other week. It was a very fun day, I have to say, starting with her 3 big sons, and lets not forget Franks wing man ma...te, Shane Chircop, who was stirring the pot..he was very funny, and then I had to manage, the 3 Chircop siblings who were handling my music..stirring as well, but I think his name was Jayke or Zack, something like that, who managed, in between all the frivolity, to get some really good photos of the wedding. Beautiful day! The bride and groom were last seen going south fishing on their honeymoon. Good luck you 2. See more

20.01.2022 Hey there peepswell I did do 2 weddings in COVID-19 times, and this is my second. Luke and Nikki were going to marry on the 18 April on the steamboat Decoy but of course, covid had other ideas. So, eventually they married on what was Anzac Day, 2020, at Lukes Dads, Jack's, fab property in Henley Brook. I think the photo, with a sign, that says, the path of least resistance, probably says as much about the institution of marriage and as much that in the end my couple decided to just get married, as they wanted to start a family, and did not want to waste any more time. .So watch this space folks. Nikki looked beautiful and the handsome groom looked gorgeous. Not much else I can say, but best wishes and much love to you both.

19.01.2022 Well, those bloody mischievous wedding spirits were absolutely out in force last Saturday, when Justin married Sarah at the Variety Pavilion in our beautiful Kings Park. Firstly, the wedding ceremony set-up people placed the furniture in the wrong way, (very pretty set-up) though we did just decide to leave as is. And in the brides haste to get to her big day and her man, she left the wedding rings at her accommodation in Cottesloe, and didnt remember until we wer...e half way through the ceremony, where unusually the bride was swivelling her neck talking to her bridesmaids. I had no idea what was going on as was trying to manage the ceremony, reading, trying to engage with their guests, (the brides youngest little boy was crying loudly, as he had not seen his Mum for a day) and so it was all happening right in front of me. Finally, as we moved to the exchanging of the weddings rings, Sarah had to admit that she had left the rings behind"are you serious" I saidyep, true story. In the meantime, her Mum, Angie cottoned on and supplied the Best Man, Cameron with 2 replacement rings, which meant that we could continue to complete the ceremony. So, folks, just a few lessons to learn and a demonstration of the power of those mischievous wedding spirits. They turn up when you least want them to. That said, Justin and Sarah looked very handsome and did get the job done.Best wishes, guys. See more

19.01.2022 On Saturday, the 23 February 2019, I married the young couple, Nathan and Jess, on Scarborough Beach, on a 30 odd degree day. And it all worked out really well, considering that beach weddings are notorious to perform and arrange, to be honest. The couples set-up company had bailed on them the week before and they had to find a new one. The area where they were supposed to marry was changed at the last minute, so I had to walk a distance. Lucky I took my roadie, AKA, Joh...n Wheeler with me. And the new set-up girl, had spent an hour trying to find parking, so when we got there she was still setting up. Well done young lady! But we got there! Nathan and Jess have been going to marry for years and have been through a bit, having 4 children in pretty quick succession, but had finally decided to draw a line in the sand, (pardon the pun), ..it was now or never. And they showed me and their guests that they have a strong, genuine, enduring and sweet love for each other. Their 3 little girls were flowergirls (and dont forget the 8 week old bubba), and they looked fabulous and in their roles, performed as only little girls do. Best wishes you two for a long and happy marriage! See more

17.01.2022 NEW HATS, NEW HATS and along with my fancy new hats, my weddings over the last few weeks have certainly been interesting and a bit fancy, too. The English bird from Leicester, Jackie married her seriously, Aussie, bloke, Johnno, at his brothers big property, and in Penny Pig territory, in Wanneroo on the 30th March, 2019 at 2.00pm in the arvo. The Bride & Groom really just both wanted a wedding ceremony that was fun and relaxed, (a bit like them), with a kneesup mother... Brown, party after. Which I understand, they got! They had friends from the UK which added to the madness, too. Jackies two young sons performed their duties beautifully, while, because I am a bit of a hoon, too, Jackie arrived in a vintage, red Ford shaker.if you know about cars in Oz, you will know exactly was I am talkin about, and which was exciting! Otherwise, Jackie looked gorg in cream and her bridesmaids were maroon! Best wishes you two!

15.01.2022 Have been busy, peeps..married a friends beautiful daughter, Monique to her dashingly handsome English fella, John on Saturday the 11th of January at her Dad Jacks property out in the back blocks of the Swan Valley in Henley Brook. I get to see sometimes the remarkable treasures of properties everywhere I go. Absolutely stunning and so quirky Jack! I even found a wooden sculpture of an American Indian. The floral work was out of this world, too. And I have to say, I t...hink I did one of my finest jobs as a Celebrant, though I am not one to blow my trumpet, at least not too hard. Monique looked stunning in satin, while her maid Marians wore off white pant suits. And lets not forget Johns Jack the lads, who wore straight leg fawn checked duds, (just like the groom, though he had a jacket), with braces and dicky bows, and no sox. So English! And at the end of their walk down the aisle, Monique organised a champagne tower, not seen one of those before. So, just finished of their ceremony in their own style. I think it may have been a long night in uptown Henley Brook, that is for sure. See more

15.01.2022 Picture this if you can, you decide to host your engagement party and transform it into your wedding day. Sounds easy enough, I am sure, but still not that easy, as it does take quite a bit of flair. Do you reckon you can pull it off, can you keep it a secret from most people, especially your parents. Such was the case for Calem and Amanda on 23 March 2019, with me as their Celebrant. And so, to add a little degree of difficulty, they decided to use an AIR BNB home, at Silv...er Sands, Mandurah, which means they had to bring everything in, chairs, tables, DJ & Muscos, food, drinks, props, etc, etc. And then fit in all of their guests around that. And they absolutely nailed it! I turned up 5 minutes after they had just announced to everyone that they were now getting married, so perfect timing. Their immediate family and friends were just flabbergasted, excited and happy all at once. Amanda looked stunningly beautiful, while Calem looked the part in a very modern blue suit, and brown shoesFabulous, and best wishes you two, thanks for having me along for the ride. It was some ride! many thanks for your fotos! See more

15.01.2022 ON THE ROAD AGAINI dont usually do 2 weddings a day, but I had the privilege of doing so on the 30 March,2019 where I married a couple in Wanneroo, and then hiked it overland to Herne Hill where I married that fun, daring and very crazy funny couple, Damien and Jess at a biggggggg..property on Lennard St in Herne Hill. Who knows that some of these properties even exist, tbh. On some days it is an art gallery, and as we see here, a wedding venue. The backyard of thi...s property was transformed into a fabulous bo-ho chic wedding venue. The bride, Jess, walked down the aisle with her Dad, Stuart and in her arms was the couples little bubba, 9 month old, Kenley, who was so well behaved. As we did the ceremony I could hear her talking to herself, while her Mum and Dad were taking their vows in marriage. Extremely cute! It has to be said, that Jess looked absolutely exquisite, with a white floor length and sassy wedding frock, with a stunning lace choker, (chokers are back in fashion, I read the other day) to complement her wedding dress. Of course, Damo, was in blue suit with brown shoes..seems to be the go-to ensemble these days for blokes. But he did look very handsome. And look it has to be said, that these two are the most unlikely of bed fellows, many of their friends were quite shocked when 1, they got together, and 2, that they had their beautiful baby, but you know what, the theory is, you know when you know. And when you stand in front of someone like me, a Civil Celebrant, youd, have to think that your life had just got a lot more serious. My love to all 3 of you, and thank you for choosing me as your Celebrant of Choice!......new hat.............too! See more

14.01.2022 On the road again for the 2019-2020 wedding season with the wedding of the Pommie lad, Jack, to his Aussie bride, Teece on the 17th August at Don Cuthbertson Reserve in Rockingham. I cant tell you how freekin cold it was! I had about 10 layers on. But it didnt phase our couple, especially the bride, as she was the one without a coat. Their 2 little daughters were beautiful, and so well behaved. They are a credit to these two young people. Interesting wedding..the brid...es ring went AWOL, just for a nano second, and we realised that when the little ring bearer Declan, had opened the lid of the box holding the rings, that the ring had fallen onto the ground. Oops! And then, out of nowhere the brides garter arrived early. Another OOPS, moment! It was sitting on the ground. So, they will never forget their wedding day. Best wishes for a long and happy marriage Jack and Teece! See more

13.01.2022 Truly, ruly, the world has gone made, but I did have the privilege of marrying Michael and Louisa on the 28 March, they were supposed to get married on the 30th May, but said, hang it....we just want to be married. Louisa's Mum had passed away last year, and she was sad, but how gorgeous was it, that the little, willy wagtail turned up on the lawn, as a symbol of her Mum on her wedding day. Bless you both! Some good news!

12.01.2022 Sorry folks, been a bit absent, been moving house.......what a pain that is, but managed to do 3 weddings last weekend. The first in Wandering, of Jimmy and Naomi, at a cute little roadside cafe, winery and cellar door, a place called, Tanglefoot Winery, 2 miles out of Wandering on the North Bannister-Wandering Rd. Only a short drive..........Naomi arrived in a vintage car, with her 2 daughters as flowergirls and looked gorgeous. And of course, so did you Jimmy! Forgot to say.............when I first got there, it was freezin...hence my fur, as only Wanderin, can do, but then the sun came out shining, just for them.

11.01.2022 I could have sworn I posted this yesterday, but must have dreamt it, I think. But if not the second last wedding for the year 2018. Where I married the girl from bonny Scotland, Amanda to the Aussie kilt wearing John Hester at the beautiful Scented Gardens of South Perth on 16 December 2018. A wedding ceremony,. based more about family than formal, with a low key, slightly private feel, and yet, still intimate, heartfelt, honest and fun. Amanda, left Scotland to follo...w the sun, (sick of the Scottish weather), and perhaps looking for some adventure, to Australia, was only planning a 10 month jaunt and is still here after 16 years. Although it was not necessarily a deliberate choice for her, the charms of Perth, the great Aussie lifestyle, the work hard, and play hard anthem, and her fantastic new Aussie friends quickly gained her heart and mind. And if she had never made that quantum leap, well, she would never have met John. So there you go, congratulations and best wishes for a very long and happy marriage, John and Amanda.

11.01.2022 Every now and again, I come across couples, who were dating or engaged to each other in their teenage years or early 20s. For whatever reasons, they have not worked out, got on with their lives, and have taken different roads. And such is the case today, where 30 odd years later, the now Mr Mrs Dave and Karen Turner, after still holding a candle for each other, and probably with the added search engines like the internet, have finally found each other again. And have b...oth still seen that beautiful familiarity and love for each other in each others eyes. How nice is that! Of course they have both had plenty of stories to tell, especially Dave, who is still a bit of a rascal, (in a lovely way). They have both had children along the way that now make up this newly married family. They chose The Left Bank in East Fremantle to marry on the 18 May. An interesting venue, as they, (since I was last there), have put in a marquee, which I suspect they predominately use for weddings. Dave and Kazzy, after all this time, I wish you both a long, eventful, fun and loving marriage.Sorry folks, no photos of the happy couple! See more

07.01.2022 On the road again: Heading into my 15th wedding season, kicking off on the 31 August where I married Doug and Veirna at their local Sanctuary Waters park in Canning Vale. Any impending rain held off, but it was very cold, typical weather as late in the arvo, in Aug/September, you cannot depend on it not being freezing here in Perth. An interesting couple, it has to be said, but where would the fun be in that, if we were all the same. Their highlight was the singing of Ed Sheeran's, "Perfect", by a young lady called Beverlyn. Outstanding young lady! And best wishes to Doug & Veirna!

07.01.2022 I married Travis Cochrane and Temily Vernon in the front paddock of the Vernon family farm in Collie, on 29 December 2018. And while Trav looked very handsome along with his bushranger mates, I am sure he would agree that Temily Cochrane was indeed the star of the show. In her white skirt, creatively made bodice and long train, she was stunning, along with her bridesmaids in blush pink and similar tulle skirts and with differing white tops, they made for one, very hot ...wedding party. Their children, Charlie, Jimmy and Leni formed part of the wedding party. And, having met 16 years ago when they were only teenagers, their wedding ceremony included many of the insights from those 16 years, with a reading by a family member, in Courtney Pike. As you would expect from country folk, I believe the partying went well into the night. Best wishes you two for a long and happy marriage. Thanks for having me as your Celebrant of Choice. Loved it!

06.01.2022 Well, ........I have been at the beautiful and historic Western Australian Golf Club, (WAFC) in Yokine for the second time in as many weeks, to perform a wedding ceremony. First was John and Ingrid Bandy, and this time, Scott and Sinead Hamling. The sun was shining, the birds were singing as Scott and Sinead pledged their lives together in marriage. Kohen watched while, search and destroy, little Miss Isla found the whole thing quite amusing, laughing with great gusto,..... as little kids do. Sinead looked stunning with bridesmaids, in a delightful forest green, while Scott looked very handsome in blue and brown, along with his groomsmen. A great shout out to the Brides very handsome cousin, Reyne who perfectly looked after the music for the occasion and also got a couple of images for me. Best of luck, you 2! Thanks for having me as your Celebrant of Choice! See more

06.01.2022 Yep, peeps, they are my hats, lining up for my 17th season as a popular Wedding Celebrant in Perth and WA. Kicked off with a wedding in Mt Richon, over the weekend, and following up with weddings at Pagoda Resort & Spa, Stirling Gardens and the Guildford Hotel in Guildford, so keeping myself busy. Certainly, not resting on my laurels. No hat this time............indoors

04.01.2022 Hey there peeps, how you doing! What you may not know about me is that while I am an authorised marriage celebrant, I also do funerals. And recently after a bit of an hiatus, I was priveleged to do the funeral of a friend of mine and his family. And I found out that a lot has changed, especially in these COVID-19 times. Including live streaming, and without blowing my own trumpet, too much, I felt like I did a pretty good job. Received quite a lot of positive feedback. And I know it is true, that weddings are all the lovey-dovey stuff and all the good things in life, but for me, doing funerals brings me a different feel altogether, which is also nice, too. Ciao

04.01.2022 Here's anothery, drove from Wandering, to the eclectic Swan Valley venue of Sandalford Winery last Saturday for the much anticipated wedding of the Port Hedland residents, Harley and Jessica Jones. Held on the Verdelho Lawn, they participated in a Sand Ceremony which demonstrates their commitment to each other and the families that they have come from. I hadn't done a sand ceremony for quite awhile, and they are always so different. And finally they exchanged their marriage vows and bring the whole ceremony and families together. Best wishes to you both.

03.01.2022 I am on the road again with my weddings for 2019. First one for 2019, where I was the Celebrant for the wedding of David and Jolene, who married at a very unique venue, the Gingin Gravity Discovery Centre, off Military Road, near Gingin, on Friday 4 January. What a quirky place that is! And I knew when I first met this couple, that nothing was going to surprise me. Really very fond of them. David, while very handsome, is not one for doing, dressy, but, he dressed up, while Jolene looked beautiful, in a white full length wedding frock with gold leaf trim. The set up in the DOME itself took 2 days, huge effort. Just awesome, eh!

02.01.2022 On the recent long weekend I did the wedding of BJ and Kellie at a new venue for me, at the Baldivis Home Stay, on Telephone Rd, which is a great find, I reckon. It is just fab! There is a paddock area to be married in, but also if the weather is not kind, you can also go into the barn, which is set up with beautiful macramé pieces. And true to form for the mad car and bike enthusiasts, BJ and his merrymen, turned up on Harleys. And get this, Bruizer, their British Bulldog turned up to see his favourite humans marry each..he is a fair size, so needed a handler to manage him..huge, ugly-beautiful you could say. But in any event Kellie looked stunning with her hand maidens in maroon. Another successful day, eh!

02.01.2022 Jason and Ji married on their birthday, the 12 February with me as their Celebrant. So, they will never forget their wedding anniversary, you would think. Thank you to the Groom's Mum, Helen who invited all of us into her and her husband, Ian's fantastic hobby style farm in the hills around Maida Vale. A beautiful privilege as you will see by the photos.

02.01.2022 At the picturesque Nedlands Yacht Club on the, 25 January 2019, on a sunny summer, day, I married that fun-loving couple, Tim and Casey. The set up was quite funky and was put together by Simone Creative, .sort of bo-ho chic, Bridesmaids looked beautiful in peach/pink. Bride looking stunning, needing no help for her quite long veil to become vertical with the usual will of the wind in this neck of the woods, that being on the Swan River, along with that Freo doctor.....that never forgets to come in. Tim and his merry men were particularly handsome in modern blue, with brown shoes. Loved doing for you,.it was fun for me, too. You both made it rel easy for me as your Celebrant of Choice.

01.01.2022 On the road again.........heading back to my hometown of Collie. Temily & Trav, like the words from Dr Suess, "you will be up and away", into your married life together, later today. Being married by me in the front paddock of the Vernon family property. Very much looking forward to it. See ya later!

01.01.2022 Finally got to this Annie. Heres a bloke, turning 60 and having a big party, whose name is Nigel. So he and his beautiful, and already long time fiancee Anne, decide to, "hell with this long time engagement", that they decided to surprise everyone, and lets get married at the same time. The party was held at Annes, baby brother Derek and his wife, Kerries fab property in Golden Bay. Id known Anne on and off for years since our living in Norseman days when we were both... in our 20s,(back in the 70's you understand) so I was the ideal choice as their Celebrant and so glad they asked me. True to form the night was all about glamour, Hollywood and the red carpet. Anne looked stunning in a striking red ,off the shoulder, long frock while Nige was in a tux, very handsome, too. At the appropriate moment, I turn up, Anne changes into another beautiful frock, this time in cream. And off we went with their legal vows in marriage and a fun, lively wedding ceremony and night was had by all, with the music to the band Leather and Lace. Thanks for the memories Annie and Nig. Live and love long, you two! Finally got to this See more
