25.01.2022 Follow up post from the Frenchy Caesarian - the babies are growing and doing well. Mumma is being an amazing first time mum

22.01.2022 Gorgeous Nikki has been doing her vet student placement with us the last 2 weeks. We’ve loved having her bubbly nature around the place

19.01.2022 All hands on deck with this Caesarian! We had our nurses, Aspiring vet Joss, Dr Lauren’s dad and an previous employee Erica (who walked in at just the right time!) to help stimulate those puppies. 10 in total - not sure how impressed mumma is . All pups and mum are going beautifully

19.01.2022 Merry Christmas from our Work Family to yours, thank you for all your support this year xxx

19.01.2022 A big shout out to one of our nurses Teresa. She has been working her butt off this week and is so close to becoming a fully qualified Vet nurse. A reward for all her hard work....puppy cuddles

17.01.2022 To coincide with Vet Nurse Day last week, Dr Mick organized a weekend away for his nurses. Lots of laughs, bonding and a great time was had. Thanks Dr Mick

16.01.2022 A BIG Happy Vet Nurse day to Victor Vet's wonderful nurses, Michelle, Jenny, Teresa and Sophie who work hard each and every day to ensure our clients and their pets are happy and that each day runs as smoothly as possible. The girls got a little spoilt today with a lunchtime training session provided with burgers and chips, followed by donuts and chocolates and other gifts given to them today! Happy Vet nurse day to all other vet nurses out there working hard each and every day!

15.01.2022 One of our lovely clients was concerned this morning about a Mother Duck and her babies trying to cross Adelaide Road near Coles. She came to ask what to do and Dr.Mick sent nurse Teresa out to direct traffic. Mother duck was being a bit nervous about Teresa's intrusion on her journey, but she soon realised that all was well. Thanks to Michelle, our client, for helping Teresa direct traffic and to all the locals who stopped to enjoy watching Mother Duck and her ducklings cross safely.

15.01.2022 Spud stayed with us for a few hours last week. Judging by his face pulling, we don't think he was impressed by it. We were certainly enjoying his antics!

15.01.2022 For the past 2 weeks we have had the pleasure of 5th year Vet student Bronte assisting and learning in clinic. Thanks for all your help Bronte and all the best for the last year and a bit of your studies!

06.01.2022 Another pelican day today. Another early call came in again this morning about our poor pelican at the Goolwa Barrages that was looking quite distressed due to ...a hook in her leg. We were ready bright and early this morning for our Blanchetown trip, but as we made a detour to respond she flew away again. Halfway to Blanchetown a discussion was had with the caravan park informing us that the inclement weather was keeping the pelicans away. Ok. We decided to return home and make a concerted effort to catch the badly injured pelican at the barrages. (For those in the know, we prayed this was not going to be another ‘Floaty’). Guess what! We caught her first time!! Thank you to Dr Mick, Victor Vet for removing the imbedded hook in her leg. Lots of meds for this bird as she cannot weight bear at all on this leg. But wait! There’s more. On her wing was the letter B which told us this pelican was Blanche, the pelican that we rescued from Blanchetown a few weeks ago. We had released her at the barrages thinking it might be a safer haven from fishing tackle. Blanche is a serial offender and we need to teach her to stay away from people fishing. She’s a really sweet girl and we can’t wait for the meds to work so she’s not in so much pain. See more

04.01.2022 We had so much fun with Vet student Bec. She has been with us the last 2 weeks and will be such an amazing vet when she graduates

01.01.2022 Kidding around at Victor Vet! Dr Lauren making friends with them

01.01.2022 If anyone on the southern Fleurieu Peninsula needs a vet, 24/7, we can’t recommend Mick at Victor Vet enough. He and his team saved our little mate this week af...ter she ate 150 or so bits of gravel in one sitting. We knew something wasn’t right on the public holiday just gone, so he opened up the practice for us on Monday night. He diagnosed her within a few minutes, took her into care immediately and was extra cautious with his approach given she’s almost 17. After seeing the mass of rocks move a little over the next 12 hours, he decided to help her pass them as he felt she probably wouldn’t survive the operation. Passing them was going to be risky due to a possible perforation of the colon but it was the safest option. It took a couple days of constant care, IV fluids, medication, lots of oral lubrication and an enema for her to move the stones through her wee body but we got there. This evening she got to come home, albeit a little exhausted from the ordeal. It was only 2 months ago Mick was removing a couple of tumours from her in another operation. On both occasions we’ve been so thankful for the approach and consideration he’s shown our girl. He’s just a good person, and we couldn’t imagine anyone else looking after her again. His prices are incredibly fair too. Total lifesaver. Victor Vet #victorvet #lifesaver #roughride #ninelives #dogs #pets #littlemates #fleurieupeninsula #victorharborvet #victorharbor

01.01.2022 After delivering 7 puppies at home overnight, this beautiful new mother needed a helping hand with her last one. She gave birth to puppy number 8 in clinic this morning with a little help from Dr.Christine and her doting owner! She had the adoring eyes of the nurses on her, quietly willing her to push!
