15.01.2022 As February 2020 nears an end, we are proud to share some great results achieved by some of our members throughout the summer months. From the end of September 2019 at NSW ALLSchools Championships, these 4 Victory Runners have been flying the flag at various meets in Sydney, Canberra and interstate and finally this weekend at ANSW Junior Championships at SOPAC. Their efforts have been well rewarded with ALL 4 of these athletes qualifying to represent NSW at the Athletics Aust...ralia National Championships held in Sydney at the end of March! Laylah Connelly will contest the 14yrs 400m. Hailey D'Ombrain after competing at National XC level is now representing NSW on the track in the 14yrs 2000m Steeplechase event after running a 19sec PB & securing a Silver medal today, as can be seen being presented her medal by the very proud Victory Runners Club secretary Jan Gibb. Liam Hinchcliffe also recieved a silver medal in the 17yrs Mens 2000m Steeplechase today (also presented by Jan.) This follows his Australian Allschools performance in Dec at Townsville where he placed 4th in the same event. This is the first season both Hailey & Liam have competed in this tough event ! Finally, pocket rocket Joel Harlor thought he would enter the U14 1500m & 800m this weekend for some racing experience. Having just turned 12 & running up an age, Joel ran a 15sec PB in the 1500m securing an U14 National qualifier & place on his 1st ever NSW Team! He backed up today running another PB in tbe 800m. Only missing that qualifier by one second. A massive congratulations to Laylah, Liam, Hailey and Joel. These wonderful results are a credit to our 4 young members and a great example that Victory Runners might be a small club but we can still achieve big things! See more

08.01.2022 After a silver medal a fortnight ago at NSW Junior Championships in the 2000m SteepleChase, Victory Runners Member Liam Hinchcliffe, has found himself back on the podium. On Sunday, 8th March, he competed in the NSW Open Championships in the 3000m Steeplechase. This was Liams first run at this distance. He finished in a super fast time of 9.27.23 & in a strong feild, earnt himself a bronze medal Awesome effort Liam !!

Contact us for more info Some information regarding the fast approaching Waratah Run Series XC Challenge (Incorporating NSW Cross Country Championships) to be held at Willandra on Saturday 22nd June. Willandra has been hosting ANSW winter state events since 1991 Re the State Cross Country, in 1998 the name of Willandra ‘Country Classic’ came into being and it was known as this until 2017 when ANSW revamped the naming... of winter events, hence XC Challenge was adopted. Not a lot of people have the opportunity of hosting a State event almost in their back yard. We at Willandra enjoy the opportunity of sharing this portion of land we have been fortunate to inherit with others to also enjoy and appreciate. We are aware the early start time (11:20 am) of events may interfere with Saturday morning activities with a change of plans necessary in order to attend, which hopefully will be worthwhile. Choices for the day are : Enter and compete in the All Age Fun Run of 1k, 2k or 4k. This is a combined event. Entries are on the day. Allow time to enter well before the start at 12:40pm. Entries will be received by Athletics NSW $5.00 for 1k & 2k. ~ $10f4k. These events are open to anyone, any age, from anywhere. Invite and challenge your friends and neighbours !! Second choice: A chance to enter one of the Championship events in your age category. To compete in these events full membership with ANSW is required. (See link below) Third choice: Take the opportunity to be a spectator and cheer for your friends and club. During the day you will witness some of the finest runners in action, representing their club and challenging their opponents! Apart from the great day of cross country running in age categories as young as under 12 years to not quite so young, 80 years and over, there will be the usual variety of hot & cold food and drinks available from the famous Willandra Country Canteen, a VictoryRunners home baked ‘goodie’ stall, plus great coffee from Jack’s Mobile Coffee Bar. Last but not least, a jumping castle will be provided for our energetic youngsters plus the surprise visit of an animal never seen before on the property of Willandra.
