25.01.2022 We’re building our largest ever telecommunications project the Transport and Government Secure Network (TGSN). We chose Optical Transport Network technology, or OTN, as the backbone of the network. It’s fast, reliable, scalable, and secure and will ensure our network is fit for purpose for the long haul.

25.01.2022 Stay home. Save lives.

25.01.2022 We’ve paused construction on the new station car parks at Hurstbridge, Sandown Park and Craigieburn and the start of works at Epping because of the current Stage 4 coronavirus restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne. We’ll start works again in line with directions from the Chief Health Officer. The temporary pause to our works will help to slow the spread of coronavirus by reducing the number of people leaving their homes and moving around Melbourne. Project related works that... are not based on site will continue to be undertaken remotely, and construction on our projects in regional Victoria will continue as usual with strict safety protocols in place. For more information on the new station car parks we’re building on behalf of the Victorian Government please visit our website https://www.victrack.com.au//key/station-car-park-upgrades

22.01.2022 Thank You Victoria. There's a lot to be proud of. But there's still a way to go. If you've been working from home you must keep working from home. At least until the end of June. Keep using your common sense. And keep your distance. It's up to all of us to make this work.

22.01.2022 Thank you to the Basalt to Bay Landcare Network’s #greenlineproject for looking after this significant and rare scar tree. Through our partnership with Landcare Australia, we've provided ongoing funding to this project for seven years, supporting and promoting environmental and cultural values along 37 kilometres of VicTrack land. VicTrack has partnered with Landcare Australia since 2005 to provide funding to protect and enhance areas of native vegetation on railway and other land. As the owner and custodian of rail transport land across Victoria, this partnership reflects VicTrack’s commitment to making the most of its assets and supporting the best outcomes for communities.

21.01.2022 It’s great to see works progressing on the Bendigo Station waiting room! You can find out more about the project by visiting our website. https://victrack.com.au/bendigoeaglehawk

21.01.2022 Our team has been hard at work supporting the delivery of the recently completed level crossing upgrades at Bell Street, Munro Street and Reynard Street in Coburg and Moreland Road in Brunswick. We’ve relocated our fibre backbone telecommunications infrastructure so the works could take place, established new communications infrastructure to support the new signalling system between Anstey and Merlynston, and managed signalling services for redundancy. Next stop commissioning new services to the new stations at Coburg and Moreland set to open on 14 December.

21.01.2022 This Easter, Stay Home. Protect our health system. Save lives.

19.01.2022 We're excited to see another one of Victoria's retired W-Class trams go to a great home! Hounds Run Vineyard applied for their tram through our retired trams expression of interest and theirs was the 38th tram to be relocated from Newport. https://victrack.com.au/proj/key-projects/reinventing-trams

18.01.2022 If you live in Melbourne or Mitchell Shire, you must wear a face covering when leaving home. This will help protect you, your family and every single Victorian. For more information - and for instructions on how to make your own mask visit http://dhhs.vic.gov.au/clothmask

15.01.2022 Today we joined hundreds of organisations around the world in hosting a virtual get together to celebrate #WorldGISDay2020. GIS technology helps us to maintain and protect our land, assets and telecommunications network. Our GIS-based RailMap program helps us to easily visualise our land and provide detailed information to transport partners and stakeholders on the location and condition of assets. GIS has truly revolutionised the work of cartographers and brought it into the digital age. Before GIS we relied on physical records hand-drawn on A1 paper. We love GIS.

14.01.2022 Stage 4 restrictions are now in place for Melbourne. Exercise is limited to once a day for 1 hour. Shopping is limited to 1 person once a day. 05.01.2022 Today is Rail RU OK? Day, a day that reminds all of us in the rail industry to look out for each other during life’s ups and downs. While creating a stronger, safe, supportive rail industry is our priority every day, right now we’re all dealing with extra challenges. Social isolation and confronting coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic are raising anxiety and stress levels for many of us. It’s more important than ever to check in on our workmates and friends. That's why this ...Rail RU OK? Day, we’re joining Tracksafe and rail industry partners in encouraging everyone to follow that train of thought and find the time and courage to check with a co-worker whenever you notice a change or just feel something's not quite right. So, today why not pick up the phone, make a video call, send a SMS to check in with a workmate and ask RU OK? If you are concerned about someone and you’d like some help with talking to them about it, you can visit ruok.org.au/findhelp

03.01.2022 To round out National Volunteer Week, we’re sending our thanks to the tireless volunteers of Landcare Australia who help maintain and improve the environment on VicTrack land. In recent years we’ve invested funds to help Landcare protect threatened ecosystems and habitats in the rail corridor. Our partnership with Landcare also reflects our commitment to making the most of our assets and supporting the best outcomes for communities.

02.01.2022 This week we celebrate National Volunteer Week and we’re thrilled to recognise the hard work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers working to beautify railway stations across Victoria through the Keep Victoria Beautiful Stationeers program. VicTrack is proud to be an essential partner in this fantastic initiative alongside V/Line, Metro Trains Melbourne and Department of Transport. A big thanks to all the volunteers, keep up your amazing work!

02.01.2022 Great to see another level crossing gone for good. VicTrack is a vital partner in the Victorian Government’s Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) that will remove 75 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings by 2025. We provide essential telecommunications services at each project site that enable the crossing to be removed and facilitate installation of new signalling and Operational Control System (OCS) equipment, usually as part of a new station build.

02.01.2022 It's great to see Carrum's new station precinct looking so good. We're proud to have played a part in removing level crossings at Station Street and Eel Race Road and delivering crucial telecommunications works over a very busy, hot and smoky week in February to help get the new Carrum Station ready to welcome its first passengers.

01.01.2022 High Capacity Signalling (HCS) will deliver greater efficiencies to the Melbourne rail network for more trains, more often. Take a look at the work that has alr...eady been undertaken to allow HCS to be tested for the very first time in Melbourne. Please be aware that, for HCS testing purposes, buses will replace trains between Epping and Mernda from 8:50pm each night, Monday 14 September to Thursday 17 September.
