24.01.2022 Yesterday’s announcement was a slap in the face to students already doing it tough during the economic fallout from COVID-19. HECS is a loan, not a scholarship. Clearly, Dan Tehan disagrees, and he thinks it is appropriate to punish already struggling students, like those who are: Dealing with mental ill-health Survivors of sexual assault, who are more likely to fail units if they are in distress From low socio-economic backgrounds, and have less access to res...ources than others And many others. We know that this isn’t fair, and we want to do something about it.

23.01.2022 VYL is calling upon the Australian Labor Party to develop a blueprint for full employment that creates good jobs and provides meaningful work. We want to see: 1. An aim for full employment with an unemployment rate of less than 3%. 2. A job guarantee with the government as an employer of last resort. 3. Prioritising the creation of jobs that deliver social and environmental good. 4. Ensuring job creation is meaningful, permanent, sustainable, gender-equitable, and accessible... regardless of skill, ability, or creed. 5. It also calls upon the Australian Labor Party to partner full employment with education and training through TAFE and university, empowering workers to reskill, upskill, or prepare for jobs of the future. 6. This branch urges the Australian Labor Party to engage and consult with Australians from all walks of life in developing full employment, including but not limited to: Indigenous Australians, union members, regional and rural Australians, young Australians, people with disabilities, TAFE and universities, and rank-and-file ALP members. 11.01.2022 Liberal MP Gladys Liu MP is ignoring Australian workers with her continual silence over the axing of 2500 Aussie jobs at Qantas. Send her a calendar invite using https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r/eventedit and send her a clear message that it is her job to meet with constituents - not hanging out in exclusive Qantas clubs. Details to include:... Date: 16/11/2020 Time: 11am Subject: meet with Qantas workers Gladys' email: [email protected]
