18.01.2022 As 2020 comes to a close I am filled with gratitude. For the people that supported me through such a challenging year. In our yoga community we started the year strong with our inperson classes. Quite suddenly we pivoted to online classes due to COVID and I was overwhelmed by how much support and encouragement I received.... We built up an amazing online community through that time thanks to the dedication of so many. It was not an easy year for us as a family as our son had to move schools due to his increasing needs for specialist care. I have been mending a broken heart. What has made persevering possible is the incredible kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity of people. You have been light holders through some dark moments and I thank you. What I have held close to this year is the teaching that the power of light is thousands of times greater than that of darkness. Thank you for being part of that light and what is good in this world. Deep gratitude to you all and I’m looking forward to connecting at inperson classes in Seacliff and online in the year that is to come. Kristy

17.01.2022 A few years ago I learnt from a fantastic yoga teacher who is also a physiotherapist how to engage my deep core muscles. : This was really timely for me as I had had my first baby and was struggling to regain strength in my abdominals. : I learnt that there are 3 cues you can use to truly engage these muscles:... Draw 2 front hip points together like you are buttoning up a pair of jeans Draw pubic bone to your navel like you are zipping up the tight jeans Knit lower front ribs back toward the spine to engage upper abdomen : These three cues are the basis for how I teach students to access their core muscles and I know they have helped many people. It was such an amazing experience to help you all experience the strengthening benefits of yoga. Thank you to everyone that was a part of it and enjoyed being in their bodies and connecting with their core and breath. That’s why I do what I do. I learn as much as I can about the body so I can help you the best way I can. I am quite overwhelmed by the number of people that were a part of it - you are all inspiring! 08.01.2022 Happy Friday Friends! I am off to teach a yoga workshop at a Relax and Retreat Day for a group of wonderful women. Feeling blessed to be able to share what I love with kind grateful people.... I hope your day is a great one too!
06.01.2022 I loved spending time at my grandparents’ house as a child. I remember one Christmas all of the cousins from various states in Australia came together and shared playing music and singing. We didn’t get to see each other very often at all but what connected us was the bond of family. We enjoyed yummy food and each other’s company and music was something we could all be a part of even if some just watched in encouragement.... I learnt that spending time not being productive and enjoying the moment is special. It is how you create memories. It has helped me as a parent realise the importance of having these moments with my own children and the tendency to always be doing things related to work needs to be balanced out with leisure time. I love teaching yoga and connecting with my students and through the practices and prioritising rest and slowing down on a regular basis it reminds us how important it is to be a human BEING not a human DOING all of the time.

03.01.2022 My daughter asked me the other day What is your most favourite thing to do mum - ever? It was not hard to answer that question so I replied Being at the beach with you guys - my family. Last weekend it was a warm sunny day ...so we headed down to Port Noarlunga as we often do. What a beautiful beach!!... We set up camp under the jetty for shade and the kids couldn’t wait to get in the water - boogie boards and all. I loved seeing how excited they got by the exhilarating feeling of the water and catching little waves. It has felt too long since last summer. When they got too cold and were shivering we warmed them up in the soft dry towels and made sand castles and I made Adela into a mermaid - so cute. Simple, natural and perfect moments.
