21.01.2022 "VIETNAM AIRLINES TO RESUME SCHEDULED INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS From September 18, 2020, Vietnam Airlines will resume one-way flights from Vietnam to Japan to serve the increasing needs of passengers wishing to work, study and stay in Japan. These are the first flights in Vietnam Airlines’ recovery plan. Vietnam Airlines and the competent authorities will continue to apply the most stringent pandemic prevention and control measures. Accordingly, in September, flights from Ha...noi to Narita Airport (Tokyo) will depart at 11:45 pm on the 18th, 25th, and 30th of September, and flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Narita will depart at 12:00 am on September 30th. All flights are operated by Boeing 787, one of the largest and most modern wide-body aircraft of Vietnam Airlines. Passenger flights from Japan to Vietnam will be made after the official decision of the authorities. The entire crew will undergo health checks and remain in quarantine upon flight completion as per the regulations. All areas of the aircraft operated for these flights (the crew compartments, passenger cabins, and cargo holds, etc.) will be thoroughly sprayed with disinfectants meeting international health standards. Starting today, customers can purchase flight tickets to Japan via Vietnam Airlines’ website, mobile application, and agents nationwide. One-way ticket including taxes and fees starts from VND 10,194,000 (fares subject to change at the time of purchase depending on the seat availability and exchange rate fluctuations). Vietnam Airlines will soon update the Vietnam - Japan flight schedule to reflect any new developments as soon as possible. The airline also plans to resume return flights from Japan to Vietnam, pending actual disease developments and the approval from the relevant authorities. In addition, Vietnam Airlines is building a plan to resume flights to Korea, China, Taiwan (China), Laos, and Cambodia in the near future. Previously, from June 2020, Vietnam Airlines operated several one-way flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to Seoul (South Korea) and Frankfurt (Germany). The reinstitution of regular international flights is a positive signal for Vietnam as well as Vietnam Airlines as the pandemic is showing signs of being under control in many countries. 20.01.2022 As of 31st August, Vietnamese Government has lifted the mandatory 14 day quarantine for foreign experts, foreign investors, skilled workers and diplomats when they visit the country for business purposes and stay in Vietnam for less than 14 days. The government imposes some mandatory requirements for this including but not limited to: Must complete an electronic medical declaration form before entering Vietnam... Must hold an international travel insurance Must have tested negative result with SARS-CoV-2 test using Real time PCR testing technique within 3-5 days before entering day except for VIP visitors who is holding a Deputy Minister position or higher. Must hold a confirmed return tickets Must hold an invitation/sponsorship letter of an organization/sponsor in Vietnam Travel agents and VN staff have to check and make sure that all documents and personal ID are matching and sufficient before ticketing. Visitors’ itinerary during the time they stay in Vietnam must be updated to departure and arrival airports at least 4 hours before departure. 17.01.2022 Lotusmiles Membership and Reward Mile Extension Sharing with members the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam Airlines’ Lotusmiles Program will implement the following policy on extending membership tier and reward miles. Extension of Lotusmiles Card:... Members holding Platinum, Gold or Titanium card which are due to be downgraded between March 1 and December 31, 2020, will get the following extensions: A 12-month extension from the downgrade date is given to the members who fall short of one to two qualifying flights, or a maximum 1,000 qualifying miles in order to maintain their membership tier for the next qualifying period. A six-month extension from the downgrade date for the remaining cases. Applicable only to the members who have at least one qualifying mile transaction in the latest qualifying period. Extension of Expiring Reward Miles: - The reward miles of all Lotusmiles members, which are due to expire between March 1 and June 30, 2020, are extended to September 30, 2020 - The reward miles held by members residing outside Vietnam, which are due to expire between July 1 and November 30, 2020, are extended to December 31, 2020 Note: Each member can benefit from each extension once only.
