19.01.2022 Dear members Following the recent Government restrictions being eased, we have been in contact with both Tennis Vic and Banyule Council, and have exciting news! We will now be opening courts 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 all for social play for members, both singles and doubles are allowed.... Our venue capacity can therefore be 20 members at any one time with the current court capacity allowed. It is important that members book a court before going to the club to play, so we can keep a record of all people visiting the club to comply with COVID contact tracing rules. To play, please book at https://play.tennis.com.au/viewbanktennisclub Before playing, please remember the current guidelines for COVID safe tennis : * Get in, play and get out * Keep 1.5m apart from others who are not part of your household. * Where a face mask when you leave home. * Shared equipment must not be used * No handshakes, try tapping your racquets instead! * Use hand sanitiser before and after play. * Also, as recommended, we ask that members download the Government COVID Safe app. * If you have symptoms flu like or cold symptoms, please stay home and do not play tennis at the club and get tested. * If you test positive for COVID after you play at the club or have been in contact with someone, please contact the club so that we can arrange a clean of the club grounds as required. Please email our COVID Safe officer at [email protected] See you on court soon! Keep safe and well. VBTC Executive Committee

18.01.2022 Covid-19 Update 18 October 2020 Following the announcement from Premier Daniel Andrews today, we have started preparing Viewbank Tennis Club for a return to play this week. Please be patient and understanding as the club committee seek confirmation for conditions/rules of play with Tennis Victoria and Banyule City Council. We expect confirmation of the rules for play to be announced early this week.... One thing that will be a requirement will be the need to book a court prior to playing. If you do not have a booking, then play will unfortunately not be permitted. To help with court bookings, we have started to use Club Spark. Please check your emails for an invitation sent last weekend, inviting you to register. If you haven't received this email please let Tom know by emailing him at [email protected], as we may not have your up to date details. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] See you back on court soon! VBTC Executive Committee

02.01.2022 Important COVID 19 update! The latest tennis guidelines for Melbourne & Mitchell Shire have just been updated to reflect the impending facemask order that comes into effect from midnight tonight 23rd july) To play social tennis, you don't need to wear a mask while playing but are required to carry one in your pocket at all times and wear before and after play (having it on until you take the court and then putting it back on before you leave). The only exemption to this is if... a person has a medical condition where they cannot wear a mask, in which case, said person should have a medical certificate or proof to show that they cannot wear a mask for a legitimate medical reason. Saying that their mask is in the car or something similar is not an excuse and not acceptable. To coach tennis, you should wear a mask at all times the only exception to this would be if a coach was physically participating in a simulated match play situation (i.e. running around playing full points/games on a full court setting with a student) in which case they could remove it for this, but would need to put it back on before interacting with anyone again or once going back to non-match sim coaching. If in doubt or unsure, please just err on the side of caution and keep your mask on. Children under the age of 12 are not required to wear a mask at any stage but can if they want to. Children aged between 12-18 fall within the category of the first point. Even if a family is playing socially together and not interacting with anyone else, masks still need to be carried and used as per the points above. You can find the updated guidelines in full here: https://www.tennis.com.au//Community-Tennis-Guidelines-Met -
