Eligible employers can apply for a wage subsidy of 50 percent of apprentice or trainee wages for up to 9 months from 1 January 2020 to 30 September 2020 (up to a maximum of $21,000 per eligible apprentice or trainee). 12.01.2022 JOBKEEPER PAYMENT: The JobKeeper Payment is a temporary subsidy open to businesses impacted by the Coronavirus. The Government will provide $1,500 per fortnight per employee for up to 6 months. The JobKeeper Payment will support employers to maintain their connection to their employees. Sole Traders and family business ran via a trust or partnership may also be eligible. Employers (including not-for-profits) will be eligible for the subsidy if, at the time of applying their b...usiness has an annual turnover of less than $1 billion and they estimate their turnover has fallen or will likely fall by 30 per cent or more; or business has an annual turnover of $1 billion or more and they estimate their turnover has fallen or will likely fall by 50 per cent or more. Self-employed individuals will be eligible to receive the JobKeeper Payment where they meet the relevant turnover test outlined above. The subsidy will start on 30 March 2020, with payments to commence in the first week of May. Businesses will be able to register their participating in the Payment from 20 April 2020 via the Business Portal or their Tax Agent. For more information or to check your eligibility contact us
10.01.2022 The Australian Taxation Office has announced it will extend the $150,000 instant asset write-off until 31st December 2020 Please see information below provided by the Australian Taxation Office. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact this office.... Note: On 9 June 2020, the government announced it will extend the $150,000 instant asset write-off until 31 December 2020. This proposed change is subject to the parliamentary process and is not yet law. Under the current law, eligibility for the instant asset write-off has been expanded to include businesses with an aggregated turnover of less than $500 million (up from $50 million) from 12 March until 30 June 2020. If you've purchased or are planning to purchase assets for your business, you may be eligible to claim an immediate deduction for assets less than $150,000. The following tips can help you get your instant asset write-off claim right: check if you're an eligible business both new and second-hand assets can be claimed, provided each asset costs less than $150,000 assets must be first used or installed ready for use between 12 March and 30 June 2020 a car limit applies to passenger vehicles. The limit is $57,581 for the 201920 income tax year if your asset is for business and private use, you can only claim the business portion different eligibility criteria and thresholds apply to assets first used, or installed ready for use, prior to 12 March 2020. If you do not use the simplified depreciation rules, you may be eligible to deduct an amount using accelerated depreciation if the asset is an eligible asset.

05.01.2022 Could your Small Business use $10k to help get thru COVID-19? Applications are open now for the Victorian Government’s Economic Survival Package to help small businesses survive the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) and keep people in work. Basic eligibility requirements are your business employs people, your operations are significantly affected by closures and turnover is down by 30% Applications are also open in New South Wales for the small business COVID-19 support grant. Eligibility is similar to Victoria, except your business needs to have suffered a revenue loss of at least 75% to qualify. For more information on either grant, contact our office.
