25.01.2022 Happy Australia Day people. Time for me to get down from this roof and have some water followed by some cold ales when I get home.

25.01.2022 This hardwood timber stud was used to frame directly on to a block wall and over the top of a cold joint, found between the block wall and concrete slab. The main issue here is the infill type slab at this house was not protected by any physical or chemical termite barrier to prevent this from happening. This particular house has not had any annual termite inspection for a very long time and this damaged timber was only a very small part of the overall damage to the home. Annual inspection are crucial as it will help detect early termite activity and reduce the amount of damage caused. Is your home due for a termite inspection? 24.01.2022 Came across and treated an active termite nest in an old tree stump today. This is why when we inspect your property we encourage you to get rid of any tree stumps in your yard. Tree stumps like this one is a great feeding/nesting site for termites and will attract them to your yard. We dont want this species in your home as they can cause severe structural damage to houses. 19.01.2022 This poor guys solar panels and roof have been taken over by pigeons and the mess they are making is disgusting. Weve been asked to sort problem so to start with we are carrying out pigeon proofing on the solar panels to stop the pigeons nesting under the panels. We are also going to put a trapping program in place to remove the birds, this way they are gone for good and wont move to another part of the house. 17.01.2022 Just completed a termite inspection in Shailer Park and came across this truss in the roof . Active termites found in the lounge room below this part of the roof, which has a garden bed abutting the external wall. Garden beds against your house will often attract and promote termite activity. Annual inspections are the key to early detection.

11.01.2022 I was lucky enough to come across a Blue Tongue lizard today. Unfortunately these guys are fairly rare to see these days due to cars and feral cats destroying them. Take care little buddy

11.01.2022 Hmmmm bit of a David v Goliath, this battle. Looking at the size of these droppings this trap wont even scratch this rat. Sometimes its best to call in professional help to sort out rodent issues.

11.01.2022 Seems that this product is "not the answer!" This high tech product was in a roof void that I was in this morning, along with a couple of cheeky possums. The product works on the principle of ultra sonic sounds emitted as a deterrent to keep pests away, but after four years of doing possum work and proofing Im still to find/see one of these that works effectively. If you have possums and want them out of your home, proofing the entry point to stop them getting in again is still the best solution. Save your money, time and sanity! Use the professionals that get it right.
