21.01.2022 A reminder that Blessing Bags will be available again tomorrow at the church outside the office.

20.01.2022 This year has forced us to stop, to see life in fresh ways and really evaluate what we value and see as important. The same opportunity is now given as we prepare to begin a different Advent and Christmas. Jesus as a baby cannot devolve into sentimentality, into traditions and festivities that involve us, busy us, but that become devoid of the spiritual and personal transformation that the birth of Jesus should inspire. Join us for our livestream service this Sunday at 10am on Facebook, where we will celebrate this first Sunday of Advent together.

19.01.2022 This is a unique space a liminal space a once in a lifetime opportunity, to not just try and rush back to normal, to make everything like it was, but to reset, to metanoia [turn right around] and really consider who we are. What does God desire for us? What will bring us and others life? Join us for our Livestream Service on Facebook this Sunday at 10am, where Rev Cam McAdam will reflect on ‘Readying ourselves to return.’

19.01.2022 Today let go and let God

18.01.2022 Advent celebrations began at The Village church yesterday, with this year's theme centered around the theme of 'hope in the midst of uncertainty', following the unprecedented and very challenging year we have experienced. "The Word became flesh and blood and moved into the neighborhood" John 1: 14

16.01.2022 Today is Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the 6 week season of Lent - a time for preparation in readiness for Easter. How will you mark this journey, this season, of prayer, fasting and reflection? What ripple effects will you see in your life in marking this Lenten season with intention? Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.

16.01.2022 As we come to the conclusion of a very different Community month at the Village Church, we remain grateful for the continued love and care shown by our healthy, thriving community.

14.01.2022 A reminder that Blessing Bags will be available tomorrow at The Village church, Mt Eliza. This Christmas at The Village Church you can once again bring hope and practical help to local families through the gift of a Blessing bag filled with new toiletries. The Village Church Blessing Bags will be distributed through Mother’s Supporting Families in Need to people on the Mornington Peninsula. Due to COVID restrictions, this year requires a little more planning and effort from ...us all, but lets not stop this from being one of our best years yet for Blessing Bags, and supporting families in real need across the Mornington Peninsula! How it will work this year: What you need to know... 1. Blessing Bags will be available on Friday 13 November and Friday 20 November at the church (just outside the office door). Grab what you can fill. Instructions for what to fill bags with will be in the bags, as always. 2. If you can’t make one of these Fridays, please email the church office and we’ll ensure the bags are delivered to your letter box. 3. Drop off your filled bags to the church between Monday 7 DecemberFriday 11 December (just outside the office door). 4. The Blessing Bags will be officially blessed on Sunday 13 December ahead of their distribution through Mother’s Supporting Families in Need.

14.01.2022 Today is Shrove Tuesday. A time to pause, prepare and perhaps make a few pancakes, and ready ourselves for a reflective, meaningful season of Lent commencing tomorrow.

10.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC Week in Australia, the theme being, Always Was, Always Will Be, and this recognises that First Nations Peoples have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. This week, we celebrate the spiritual and cultural connection of those who walked here first. We are reminded that this country was criss-crossed by generations of nations. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engine...ers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. Through ingenious land management systems like fire stick farming, First Nations Peoples transformed the harshest continent into a land of bounty. Australia has the world’s oldest oral stories. The First Peoples engraved the world’s first maps, made the earliest paintings of ceremony and invented unique technologies. They built and engineered structures predating well-known sites such as the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge. First Nations Peoples have lived in harmony with creation for millennia and their knowledge is vital to the present climate crisis we face. This week, may we especially remember and acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we meet, the Bunurong / Boon Wurrung peoples, and pay our respects to their elders, past, present and we encourage their emerging leaders. May we commit ourselves to reconciliation between the first and second peoples of our country, and see this as a sign and symbol of that coming reconciliation and renewal which is the end in view for the whole creation.

09.01.2022 How do we as a community treat our most vulnerable members? How will we care for those most affected by this pandemic? Join us for our livestream service on Facebook this Sunday at 10am, where Rev Cam McAdam will reflect on 'The Compassionate Judgement'.

07.01.2022 As we turn towards Advent and Christmas, a time of celebration and giving, we consider how we might support the various organisations our church partners with in ministry across this time, Mothers Supporting Families in Need, Act for Peace, the Mornington Community Information and Support Centre, Fusion, Mt Eliza Secondary College and others. And may we find creative ways, make ourselves vulnerable, to express the compassion on which our commitment to Christian faith stands. Rev Cam McAdam, Livestream Service on Facebook, Sunday 22 November 2020

06.01.2022 We may have regrets in the things we have done in the name of Christ. We may have thought we had failed. But nothing that is done in the name of Christ, is ever lost in God’s eye. Every little thing we do, in the name of Christ, will receive its reward. Rev Eseta Waqabaca-Meneilly, Livestream Service on Facebook, Sunday 15 November 2020

06.01.2022 We are very excited to say we're back to face to face services on Sunday, as well as continuing to Livestream our service on Facebook This Sunday, with the commencement of Lent we will kick off a new series...'The Ripple Effect of Faith in Jesus'.... "I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples." Mother Teresa

05.01.2022 Our lamps are empty and full this is life. Your light doesn’t have to dazzle. Remember, God creates light. God is light. And Jesus is the light of the world. Your half-empty flask of oil isn’t the point. You are. You are enough. Rev Cam McAdam Livestream Service on Facebook, Sunday 8 November 2020

04.01.2022 Jesus modelled inclusion and solidarity with the unclean and marginalized not only for their sake but for the sake of the powerful and the privileged and for the good of the whole. Peter Wehner Join us this Sunday at 10am in church or via our Livestream service on Facebook.
