10.01.2022 Are you into Halloween? This year, it’s important you know how to stay safe from ghosts, ghouls, monsters, and #COVID19 Halloween fun is all about great co...stumes. Remember, a costume mask isn’t the same as a protective mask but why not decorate a protective face mask to match your outfit? When celebrating Halloween, meet with your friends in a public space like the park, keep your distance, and practise good hygiene. Don’t share food or drinks. Even if you can’t trick or treat, there’s lots of fun ways to have a spooky Halloween while staying at home. Decorate the house, watch scary movies, make creepy cakes or go on a scavenger hunt. 03.01.2022 A spoonful of fun! After reading this newspaper article our village kindergarten children wanted to bring some smiles to our community. Here are their bright and colourful spoon people for all of our village families and local community to enjoy.

03.01.2022 This week Ararat Village openly discussed and demonstrated the importance of NAIDOC week. Our older children learnt what NAIDOC stands for and why it is important and our younger ages were familiarised with colours, products and traditions that are recognised by our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

02.01.2022 Natural objects with open-ended possibilities often encourage children to engage in richer play experiences. Natural materials have a sensory benefit. ... They provide more tactile stimulation to children to help them improve their hand/finger awareness and coordination.

02.01.2022 This afternoon our 0-3 rooms slept outside in this beautiful spring weather Here are just a handful of benefits to support children sleeping outdoors~ * Children who sleep outdoors spend less time in dry, recycled air which can allow the flu, virus and common colds to easily spread among the children.... * By spending more time in nature, looking at the beauty and smelling the fresh air, children who sleep outdoors benefit from nature’s calming effect. * By spending a lot of time outdoors from a young age, children can internalise these habits early on in their lives which can help them become healthier adults. * The cold air helps babies and toddlers sleep better, deeper and longer. It also helps them fall asleep easier even once they are older.

02.01.2022 Lest We Forget Here at Ararat Village we believe that a child is never to young to start learning. We engage our children from as young as just a few months old in taking part in celebrations such as Remembrance Day. Although infants are not yet able to gage the seriousness of days such as Remembrance Day we are still able to introduce them to it in an age appropriate manner.

01.01.2022 A child’s pretend play in classrooms or at home is often considered fun and imaginative, but with limited educational value. The truth is, in the midst of creating a restaurant together, clomping around in grown-up shoes, or twirling around with friends in a fairytale land, children are learning to solve problems, coordinate, cooperate, and think flexibly.

01.01.2022 Our Observers love exploring new textures. Thank you Educator Jamie-Lee for making this sensory board for our littlest Village children.
