25.01.2022 In so many parts of life and society, the current changes to the world have led to important re-assessments of the status quo and re-thinking of the way we've always done things. We received an email from the University of Tasmania this week introducing their pathway to entry for Year 12 students based on school recommendation rather than an ATAR! We are hopeful that this signals a move towards greater emphasis on recognising students' individual strengths, moving away from a flawed assessment score and even more alternative entry pathways for students to enter university.

"Ms McKenzie said demand was so high for the new school - in which students are encouraged to get out and about, bushwalk and go to the beach - that families were moving to attend. "I'm really excited about school start-ups and it's getting harder but the appetite for this style of education is growing," she said."

20.01.2022 Village High School is now officially open! Our students and staff had a wonderful first day yesterday, and have been enjoying getting to know new friends and gorgeous new spaces. We've tried out a few ideas, planned some projects, used the kitchen and today is our first Parliament. Exciting times ahead!

With all the uncertainty and change in the air and school closures on the horizon, we feel that it isn’t the right time to ask people to start in a new role and we’ve decided to put the recruitment process on hold. 01.01.2022 It's so exciting to be in print as part of the Back to School features in the local papers! It's been a great first week, with lots going on at school including planning our first camp, which is happening in a couple of weeks. We can't wait!
