25.01.2022 COVID 19 UPDATE- On Friday 24th July 2020 our practice received advice from the Secretary of NSW Health regarding the need for practice staff and patients to we...ar face masks when attending the practice. Please be advised it is now a requirement that all patients will need to have masks on if they wish to attend the practice in person. Please note this includes attending for pathology services. The need for physical distancing and hand hygiene is still required and will continue to be practiced by both staff and those attending. When you arrive at the practice for your appointment please call us from your car to let us know you have arrived. There is no need to arrive earlier than your appointment time. Please ensure you have your mask on before exiting your car as you will not be able to enter the practice without your mask on. There will be no waiting in our waiting rooms. We are able to offer Telehealth consults. If you think your consult can be dealt with via Telehealth please let us know. Things that can be done via a Telehealth consult include scripts, referrals and getting results. Thank you for working with us to keep our community safe.

21.01.2022 Good timing! We were so grateful with the support from so many people through the last fire season, and weve been working through the donations to try and wis...ely increase the capacity and the efficiency of our brigade. Yesterday a delivery of new wet weather gear arrived which we are very excited about! In anticipation of this we had already commissioned the Robertson Mens Shed to build us a movable drying rack for when we return to the station after wet weather incidents. We recently also added a reverse cycle air conditioning unit to our training room, which as you can imagine through winter, makes our Wednesday night training nights much more enjoyable. These have been possible through the donations through the RFS fund that has had a bit of media attrntion lately, and other community generous donations. Well try and highlight some more things weve been able to purchase in the coming weeks.

21.01.2022 #COVID19: As of today, Wednesday 1st July, the following COVID-19 restrictions will ease: The number for people allowed inside indoor venues will be determine...d by the one person per 4 square metre rule, with no upper limit. This includes function centres. Kids and adult community sport can recommence. Cultural and sporting events at large stadiums, racecourses and motor racing tracks will be allowed up to 25% of their normal seated capacity, to a maximum of 10,000. These events must be ticketed, seated and follow strict guidelines. Alcohol can be served to seated patrons only, including at conference and function venues. Cinemas, theatres and concert halls can reopen subject to the one person per 4 square metre rule. Restrictions on gatherings remain the same. Twenty guests are allowed inside a home and 20 guests are allowed for gatherings in a public place. 17.01.2022 Major Announcement The current escalation of the COVID-19 situation in Australia and ongoing restrictions on public gatherings to limit the spread of the vi...rus has led us to postpone LÉtape Australia by Tour de France. The restrictions are there to protect riders, supporters and the local community, which is of paramount importance to all of us. In consultation with key stakeholders including the NSW Government, the decision has been made to postpone the fifth edition of LÉtape Australia by Tour de France to Friday 19 and Saturday 20 March 2021. The event location, the routes and timings are intended to remain the same. Riders already registered for the event are automatically transferred to the new date and dont need to take any further action. Riders unavailable at the new date can request transfer their registration to LÉtape Australia in December 2021 or November 2022, or a refund via the online form available here https://letapeaustralia.com/postponement/ LÉtape Australia by Tour de France is the only Tour de France event in Australia and provides amateur riders with the closest experience to riding in the Tour de France an amateur cyclist can get. The event also generates a significant economic boost for its host regions, and riders are invited to visit Kiama, the Shoalhaven and the Southern Highlands on an individual basis to support local businesses in their recovery from the bushfires and the Covid-19 crisis. For question and enquiries, please visit https://letapeaustralia.com/postponement/ or email [email protected].

13.01.2022 This afternoon, along with Burrawang Rural Fire Brigade we were paged to a grass fire along the Illawarra Highway near McGraths Road. Both sides of the highway... were alight and the fire was starting to climb up a stand of large trees overhanging the highway. The smoke was thick across the road, and we want to thank the drivers who took the cautious approach and stopped, not trying to drive through it. In these situations our main priority is ensuring the safety of our volunteers as they work on the road, so we appreciate your patience. Well always work to get a road reopened as soon as it is safe to do so. Good reminder today that despite the cold weather and recent rains, a fire can still happen, and grow. Start thinking about your preparations for the coming fire season.

13.01.2022 Unfortunately, the Robertson Markets are not able to start back yet. Will keep looking forward to when we can have our market happening again!

11.01.2022 Thank you all for being compliant and wearing face masks when attending your appointments. Over the past month we have given hundreds of masks out for free. Un...fortunately we are unable to continue to supply face masks. Robertson pharmacy are selling both individual and boxes of masks and the post office have a small supply left. There are also some clever ladies in town making fabric 3 layer face masks. Please contact me at the practice if you would like the contact details for ordering the fabric masks. Stay safe, sanitise your hands and continue to practice social distancing.

11.01.2022 The Fire Danger Rating for the Illawarra/Shoalhaven for Monday 16 November 2020 is Very High. All Permits are suspended for 24hrs from midnight tonight.

09.01.2022 The CTC opening again also available for venue hire for community groups of up to 15 people.

09.01.2022 With the recent rains saturating the ground, there always a chance of trees being uprooted, especially when the winds pick up. Stay alert when you are driving ...as you never know what will be just around the bend! One driver yesterday had an experience of this on Kangaloon Rd, thankfully walking away uninjured when a large tree fell across the road in front of them. Their car is hiding inside the tree in one of these photos! Great turnout from the brigade early in the morning and with the support of our local police we were able to clear most of the tree before council contractors arrived to finish up, make the road safe and get it reopened.

02.01.2022 Two things if you are planning on doing a pile burn on your property to prepare for the fire season: 1. Make sure you have checked the council website sections... about backyard burning: https://www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/steps-for-backyard-burning 2. It is now easier to notify the RFS about your plan to burn (which is one of the requirements of burning). Simply go to: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify and fill in the notification at least 24hours before you start.

01.01.2022 If you missed the first class and would like to give this a try. The CTC is taking expressions of interest in another Face Mask class, numbers will be limited and CovidSafe. Call 4885 2665
