22.01.2022 It's almost Easter everyone! Village Therapy will be closed over the Easter break until Tuesday the 4th of April. We hope you enjoy your time off and we will see you again soon!

22.01.2022 Once again, the end of the financial year comes at a time when many of our families have been impacted by the economic uncertainty of a lockdown. So we have mad...e the decision again this year to hold off on applying our CPI fee increase until later in the year, in the hope that we can all get onto a more solid financial footing. Unfortunately we won’t be able to delay the increase indefinitely, as our own expenses will have the CPI increases applied from July 1st, but we will try to postpone for as long as we can. This only applies to our Medicare and Private paying clients. NDIS clients will continue to be charged according to the NDIS Price Guide, which has not yet been released for the next financial year. 17.01.2022 Hello Village People! Just passing on the info that the Time Timer apps for both iPad and iPhone have been made free. A fantastic resource to use at home.

17.01.2022 Due to the ongoing difficulties in Victoria, we have made the decision to hold off on our scheduled July fee increase until we return to face to face therapy in our new clinic (NDIS rates continue to be in line with the official NDIS fee schedule). Today's government directive indicated that we will be providing telehealth services only for the next six weeks, unless families require emergency support. We hope that all of our families remain well, and encourage you to reach out to Fiona for any additional support you may need, including strategy sessions, social stories or additional home practice. We are so looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

17.01.2022 Check this out :)

15.01.2022 Dear Village Therapy families, Last night our Prime Minister and Chief Medical Officer gave an impassioned plea for people to do whatever we can to observe social distancing. They spoke of expecting changes to our lives for at least the next 6 months. As therapists, we are very lucky to be in a profession that allows us to still help our families online. Studies show that online therapy is a very effective way of delivering speech and occupational therapy to children. We have...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Important information about upcoming therapy appointments. Dear Village Therapy families, Last night our Prime Minister and Chief Medical Officer gave an impass...ioned plea for people to do whatever we can to observe social distancing. They spoke of expecting changes to our lives for at least the next 6 months. As therapists, we are very lucky to be in a profession that allows us to still help our families online. Studies show that online therapy is a very effective way of delivering speech and occupational therapy to children. We have therefore decided that the best way for us to do our part for the safety of the community is to start offering only online therapy services starting from this coming Wednesday. How this will impact you: One of our team will contact you to set up a time for a free set-up session with a team member to make sure you are comfortable with the online system. They will send you all the information you need and talk you through the process step-by-step. Your appointment time may need to change this week to give us time to help everyone get set up. We imagine that most people will have a little more flexibility with times at the moment! After this week, we will go back to having regular weekly/fortnightly appointments at the same time. Some families are choosing to use the extra time for intensive home therapy. We don’t get chances like this very often! If you would like to make the most of the extra time at home to have extra sessions, please let reception or your clinician know ASAP, before our diaries fill up. If you are unable to have online therapy, you will not go to the bottom of the waiting list. We will keep a separate list of families who will be a priority as spaces become available when we are operating face-to-face again. We will continue to offer new assessments to families on the waiting list, via online sessions. Payments Session prices will remain the same. NDIS and HCWA clients are already able to claim online sessions. There will be no difference to your current payment arrangement. Private Health fund rebates please check with your fund. Each currently has different rules about rebates for telehealth. We are unable to process Hicaps payments remotely. All sessions will need to be paid in full and then you claim your rebate from your health fund. Medicare rebates currently, Medicare rebates are not able to be claimed for online sessions, but allied health professional associations are lobbying the government to have this changed. It is likely that the rules around this will change as the situation develops. We will keep you informed of any changes. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if there’s anything we can do to help your family to transition through these changes. While we all do our best to flatten the curve, the other curve our learning curve is getting steeper by the day. Our wonderful Village Therapy team are doing everything they can to be responsive and positive as they work through all of these changes. Please be patient with us as we are all learning together.

07.01.2022 This is a great idea for kids who don’t like the feeling of a mask around their ears. There are many other helpful suggestions in the comments too.

04.01.2022 It's not quite how we had planned to celebrate, but happy national Speech Pathology Week - from our homes to yours!

04.01.2022 From 6pm tonight, masks will need to be worn in the clinic at all times by all who are over 12 years (unless you have a medical exemption). Fingers crossed we can relax this soon!
