25.01.2022 Photo schedule for today at Villa Park! Don't be late!

24.01.2022 Well done to the First VI Volleyballers' who fought hard down in Melbourne for the Australian Schools Cup over the past week. Villanova was placed 11th in what was a tough pool which saw many games go down to the wire with some big plays and even bigger hits! We wish the boys the best for their preseason and looking forward to seeing them back in Goold Hall.

22.01.2022 We also want to wish the first Football squad currently competing at Runaway Bay the best of luck leading into their third and final game in preparation for premiership aspirations heading into term 2. Currently the boys have won their first 2 games with impressive performances claiming both a 7-4 victory and a 4-0 win against some quality opposition. We look forward to watching the boys take this good form back to Villa Park! Carn' The Cats

21.01.2022 Last Saturday saw the commencement of AIC sport for the year with Villa taking on SPLC at home. The cricketers began their season with victories across the board, claiming all but one aggregate win including a dominant performance by the 1sts. The start of the Vollyball fixtures saw a massive army of green and gold turn up to cheer on the boys against a tough opposition. Despite the 1sts being overcome in a nail biting 2 sets to 3 loss the Villa men managed 10 wins from 17 fixtures, keeping them in good contention for aggregate.

19.01.2022 The moment of utter joy as the 1st XV are embraced by their supporters on Saturday. Down 19-6 with 20 minutes to go, the Villanova boys seemed down and out against a fast and strong Saint Peters team, fueled by a huge vocal home crowd. 2 quick tries to winger Sam Thong and fullback Will Stokes put the green and gold men back in contention at 19-16 with minutes to go on the clock. As the clock winded down and the pressure built, the Villanova men showed patience and determination on the Saint Peters try line, before flanker Rhys Beal spilt the defence open to score the game winning try in the final play, to seal a 21-19 victory for Villanova. The scoreboard on Saint Peters 2nd feild had a real workout on Saturday too, with huge wins recorded by Villa, including a massive 99-0 win by the 15 b's! CARN THE CATS

16.01.2022 Tomorrow sees the final home game for trimester one for the year. This will be some of the boys last volleyball and cricket games at villa park/goold hall ever. On behalf of villa, we'd like to thank you for all the hard yards put in over the years and wish you the best of luck in the future. Further, it would be great to see you guys at there to support the green and gold against St Pats tomorrow. The volleyballers will be looking to continue their run of form, whilst the cricketers will be looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Ashgrove. Good luck fellas Carn the Cats!

15.01.2022 Today saw Villa take on Ashgrove in round 4 of the AIC Season. With an even battle in the football department, the rugby boys had a tough day against strong opposition. The first rugby went down, although the boys put up a valiant fight in the first half with the score 13-5 at the break. The first football, led by an Alex Badrak masterclass (2 goals) ran out 4-0 winners and also reclaimed their spot at the top of the table.

15.01.2022 Last weekend marked the commencement of trimester three of AIC sport with the Wildcats taking on St Peters at home. It was a tough round for both the basketball and tennis firsts teams, both going down to strong opposition. In the tennis St Peters appeared the dominant force in a 2-6 victory, with Matthew Pertnikovs and Wilson Lamb managing spirited victories in three sets in their respective singles games. With a packed stage of supporters behind them, the basketball boys pu...t on an admirable display, going down in a thrilling 50-53 point match, described by Mr Stariha himself as, 'The most exciting game of basketball [he'd] seen at the college.' Despite the loss in the 1sts, Villanova's other Opens basketballer's delivered strong performances with the 2nds and 3rds both claiming dominant victories. Shoutout to all those who gave it their all on the weekend, both on the court and in the stands and as always, CARN THE CATS!

15.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS BEN MOWEN - VILLANOVA OLD BOY ON HIS DEBUT TONIGHT FOR THE AUSTRALIAN WALLABIES AGAINST THE LIONS! 15.01.2022 Massive congratulations to all the Villa boys who represented the College last weekend at the Annual AIC Cross Country Championship! Opens and the under 12's both took out the premiership after the grueling run at Limestone Park securing the College for an overall 4th place. Well done fellas, all the early mornings and hard work has payed off!

13.01.2022 Tomorrow sees the fourth round of AIC cricket and volleyball against Ashgrove. This will see the biggest rivalry in AIC cricket ignite with the firsts battling it out with the opposition for the premiership. Many junior teams as well are in a similar position so good luck to those boys representing Villa. The volleyballers have a chance to bounce back from the previous weeks with a win over Ashgrove tomorrow. Good luck to all the Volleyballers also. Remember fellas, make sure you try and get out to support your mates doing the hard yards. Carn the Cats

13.01.2022 Villanova men, today we take to the field against St Pats from the north, although this is just a trial we must show them that we are the real green and gold, they're merely impostors. All game times are going ahead as Scheduled despite the wet weather so I expect To see you all out there putting in the effort that your mates around you deserve. CARN THE CATS

13.01.2022 Good luck to the 1st V Basketball squad who left for Melbourne on their tour this morning in preparation for the AIC season starting next term. The boys will be playing 7 games against school and club teams in Melbourne over 5 days, while also having some fun, like watching a game of footy at the MCG and some shopping. Hopefully we can see some triple double's and clutch performance's in Goold Hall next term with all this pre-season work!

12.01.2022 Villanova men, today sees St Peter's Lutheran College come out to the fabled villanova park for battle. The courageous foe will be beat, as upon attempting to breach our fortress they will be met wtih teams hungry for victory and boys cheering on the mighty green and gold. Special shout out to the first rugby and football boys who are looking to chalk up wins using the home ground advantage. Rohan Dooley is also promising big hits in the seconds if you can catch that game. CARN THE CATS!

11.01.2022 Trimester One of AIC sport has come and gone with round 7 against Iona commencing on Saturday. Despite pouring rain resulting in the abandonment of several cricket fixtures, Villa was able to claim all but six wins from the grade fives up to the 10A's, capping off an overall successful season for the boys out in the field. On the courts Villa showed a dominant display to finish off the season on a high with the 7As, 9Bs and 10As claiming wins along with all three opens teams. Whilst we acknowledge all those who participated in Trimester One, the Rugby, Football and Chess season will soon be upon us with various pre-season training programs commencing in the lead up. So get involved and get keen for the season ahead. As always, Carn the Cats!

11.01.2022 Villanova men, tomorrow marks the start of Trimester 2 of AIC sport with the Wildcats taking on tough opponents Ashgrove at home. 08.01.2022 Last weekend saw a successful start to the first trimester of AIC sport, with Villa doing very well against the tough opposition of Padua. It was great for the Firsts who both posted emphatic wins on their road to premiership glory. The cricketers knocked up 216 with Ben Honan notching a half-century, and bowled Padua out for 103 with Lachie Honan, the chief destroyer. The volleyballers asserted their dominance with a 3-1 also. In the cricket, overall villa lost 1 aggregate game which puts us in a good position to win back the aggregate from ashgrove, and in the volleyball, well over half the teams secured a victory putting them in good stead for an aggregate also.

08.01.2022 Tomorrow Villanova men sees our arch rivals St Laurence's arrive at our fortress for battle. Many teams are hungry for wins and a football aggregate is on the line tomorrow with both lauries and villa leading the pack. Both first teams are looking to achieve a double over lauries with both of them winning their trial games. The first football are leading the chase for a premiership so a win tomorrow will see them remain at the top. Tom Bewely is promising to break someone's leg. CARN the CATS!!

07.01.2022 This weekend sees the mighty wildcats take on Lauries out at villa park. It'd be great to see plenty of current and old villa boys out there to support the main clash for the second trimester of sport. The second football is at 11 and first football at 1:15. Rugby times are below.

06.01.2022 Results from this afternoon's Round 6 Chess fixtures against SLC. Strong performances from the Junior B and Senior A teams saw Villanova winning those two divisions by large margins whilst Jacob Ralph and Jonathan Hohl steadied the ship for the Open side late in the evening to secure a draw. Best of luck to all students playing in the AIC and CIC Rugby and Football fixtures tomorrow against Saint Laurence's College and The Southport School respectively. Sides to watch out for... include the premiership-leading Second XI, as well as the First XI (still in contention) and First XV, all of whom will be facing up against a traditional rival at SLC's Runcorn grounds. 05.01.2022 Yesterday saw the green and gold warriors charge into battle against Padua College. Villanova put on good performances across both sports and all age groups. The first rugby boys went down in an extremely close game 28-22 with tries to Alex Curcuruto, Tom Cronin, Cameron Torpy and Sam Thong. The first football boys got their title defence off to a great start with a 4-1 with goals to Alex Badrak, Ryan Carroll and Andy Coyne. 03.01.2022 Forget Rugby. Forget Boxing. Forget MMA. Forget everything you THINK you know about tough sports, because in this Wildcat's humble opinion, the toughest of them all is Cross Country. Unforgiving winter mornings and kilometers and kilometers of arduous terrain with little to no fuss or recognition; that is the true meaning of tough. So, to show these boys your appreciation for their hard work, sign up for the supporter bus for this Saturday the 3rd of August, which will be tak...ing a group of Villa diehards out to Limestone Park to watch our toughest lads go up against the most physically demanding track in Queensland and the best runners in the AIC. Places are limited, so sign up at the sports office as soon as you can. Runners to watch out for include Jared Pascoe (U 14), Jack Rolls (U 15) and Liam Boudin (U 16). Be there to watch the boys take home the silverware for the green and gold. There will be free snags. There will be free drinks. There will be champions. CARN THE CATS See more

03.01.2022 Evening all. As most of you are aware, tomorrow is the final round of AIC trimester two fixtures with the Wildcats taking to the fields of Villa park against Iona. It is bound to be a special day as our year twelve students play their last games of football and rugby for Villanova College. As well as this, it is your last chance to come out and support your fellow Villanova men at Villa park so don't miss out on this opportunity to hit up some VNC spirit and get behind the bo...ys! 1st Footy @ 12:15 1st Ruggers @ 1:30 As always Carn The Cats!

03.01.2022 If any of you young wildcats want to get involved in the spirit and support aspects of sport, get in touch with nick boxall who is up for a chat at anytime. Hopefully the support and spirit at villa grows. Cheers

02.01.2022 A reminder to all football players excluding 1st XI that you must wear your sports uniform shirt today for your game instead of your normal football jersey. This is because Lauries playing strip is basically undistinguishable from ours. Carn the Cats!

01.01.2022 This weekend saw much better performances from all teams with villa winning it's fair share of both rugby and football games. The first rugby were able to claim their first win of the season with a thrilling win over St Peter's (38-24). Tries were scored by will Sankey, max baker, Ryan Cameron, Sam thong and Kyle walker. The first football went down in heartbreaking circumstances and are now 1 point behind in their race for the premiership. This weekend sees a new foe and we will rise to the challenge. CARN THE CATS

01.01.2022 A fantastic day for villa with plenty of wins across all ages in both sports. The cricketers got up by over 100 runs and special mention to Tom Rolls who knocked up 117 in a fantastic batting display. The volleyballers also won 3-0 over an undefeated st pats team in what was a dominant performance.

01.01.2022 Tomorrow, my fellow men, is the initiation of AIC Sport for 2014, beginning with Round 1 Cricket and Vollyeball vs Padua. Plenty of hard pre-season work by all teams will hopefully result in success tomorrow and during their season. Get around all the boys playing, particularly the Firsts with both the volleyball and cricket teams hoping to get their seasons off to a good start. It will also be the cricket boys first step to achieve a three-peat of premierships, the first time Villa has done such an act. Hope to see lots of support out tomorrow at Villa Park and Goold Hall supporting the boys in the green and gold. Carn the Cats!
