24.01.2022 The final stage of the kitchen jazz up (insert jazz hands) When we moved into our house many years ago, it had this pokey little corner pantry unit that I've always struggled with. Too small, completely awkward to use and just plain impractical! I've been dreaming of an open pantry and been collecting and storing my bits in glass jars for a couple of years but finally after a visit to @provincialhomeliving I had the inspiration I needed to get into it! Gumtree pine bookshe...lf $70, paint and voilà! I wish I had a pic of the pantry 'before' for a comparison but it was always so offensive that I never took one. You'll have to use your imagination! The pallette is neutral with touches of sea mist blue to reflects the beauty of the bayside. 13.01.2022 When you work on other peoples homes yours takes a back seat. SO! I'm spending the next few days glaming up our tired kitchen. Step 1. Paint stained old (once we're white and now are creamy yellowish) cabinets. The dark colour is left over from our exterior decks and bedroom. Step 2. Freshen up window planter box. (Added pretty white and pink double snap dragons)... Step 3. Add a new brass kitchen mixer Step 4. Tile left wall and sink side splash in classic clean white subway tiles. Step 5. Change up the dining table These are easy and inexpensive ways to keep things fresh on a budget. I've used excess paint and tile left over from other home reno jobs. 01.01.2022 Soooooo this happened!!! I have been very preoccupied lately and this is why. We have been working on securing this stunning property for the last few months and finally it's ours!! The house was a former Mater prize home circa 1939 and the barns on the property date back much further to 1912 when they were built as stables on our block behind what was the Royal Hotel. Annnnnd the tennis courts are rounmered to have hosted local tennis star Roy Emerson!! So much history!! We have big plans for this stunning property namely some rustic chic barn accommodation and a country home escape for the family.
