The Vinnies Community Sleepout is tomorrow Friday 23 October 2020. Do your bit to help with the homelessness issue in the local area. Armidale funds are supporting "Starting Fresh" that enables residences of Freeman House to reconnect with the community through funding participation in sports, cr...aft and other networking events. In Tamworth funds are being used to provide a vehicle to provide transport of clients to the facility. 16.01.2022 Today Thursday 5 December, is International Volunteer Day, a day proclaimed by the United Nations to recognise the invaluable contribution volunteers make to local communities across the world. This year’s theme is ‘volunteer for an inclusive future’. This highlights Sustainable Development Goal 10 (Reduce inequality within and among countries) and the pursuit of equality including inclusion through volunteerism. Vinnies is an organisation with around 12,000 volunteers an...d nearly 4,000 members who work tirelessly to help us on our mission and provide that hand up to those experiencing poverty and disadvantage. As you can see, we are reliant and greatly indebted to those who join forces with our 2000 staff to work towards a more just and compassionate society. We would like to acknowledge the amazing contribution of our many volunteers from all walks of life whether they have just joined us or have volunteered for many years, whether they willingly give one hour a month or many hours per day and thank them for their time and commitment to Vinnies. Without you, we simply couldn’t do what we do to help rebuild, restore and renew the lives of people who ask us for help. THANK YOU
