22.01.2022 What a terrific Metropolitan Vinnies Youth Christmas Gathering! So much fun when such amazing young people get together! Thank you to all who attended and we wish all our Youth Volunteers a wonderful Christmas and a terrific 2020

09.01.2022 Vinnies staff were extremely honoured and privileged to be invited to participate in the end of year Christmas Prayer Service at Eileen O'Connor Catholic College, Lewisham. What an amazing response to the 2019 Vinnies Christmas Appeal from parents, students and staff. The generosity from the school community will be deeply appreciated by individuals and families who are doing it tough in the local community this holiday period.

08.01.2022 Students and teachers from St Joseph’s Regional College, Port Macquarie, participated in a Vinnies SWAP Retreat at Auburn today. They toured the Distribution Centre and packed food and laundry hampers for our Conferences. We were so fortunate to have had such a wonderful group of eager students volunteer with us today. They are now keen to research Vinnies volunteering opportunities closer to home!

06.01.2022 At the Metropolitan Teen Vinnies Gathering Day students made beautiful Christmas cards of hope for people seeking asylum on Manus Island and Nauru. In the workshop students learnt more about the plight of those who have been in offshore detention and were shocked by conditions people have been living in and the hardships they are dealing with - especially when they found out that to hold one person in offshore detention costs over $500,000 a year however to have someone in co...mmunity detention in Australia, which is a lot more humane, costs $10,000 a year! It was great to see the compassionate response from the students and the thoughtful cards they put together. Vinnies NSW has proudly supported people seeking protection since the 1960s and will be continuing this legacy with schools in 2020. 05.01.2022 Tony Cranney (Sydney Archdiocese Central Council) extends gratitude to the City of Sydney Council and Lord Mayor Clover Moore for inviting Vinnies to collect for the Bush Fire Appeal at the series of Christmas concerts. The generous patrons and supportive Members and volunteers helped make it lovely to be a part of.
