15.01.2022 http://vintagespeedwayfestival.com/ BIG REPRESENTATION AT THE GRAFTON VINTAGE FESTIVAL

13.01.2022 NOMINATIONS FOR GRAFTON VINTAGE FESTIVAL Planning is well underway for the Australian Vintage Speedway Festival at Trevan Ford Grafton Speedway and the night presentation which will be the highlight of the Saturday, June 11 fixture. Promoter David Lander wants to know as close as possible how many Solos, Sidecars and Speedcars he will have on hand to participate in what will be a re-enactment from days of yesteryear with the show under lights. He is also calling for Super Mod...ifieds, restored Sprintcars, Sedans, Formula 500, TQs and any other car divisions that are eligible to be a part of the night as the highlight following afternoon demonstration runs for all categories from 1PM to 5PM. We have received entries and nominations are still being taken so I do need to know how many bike riders and cars we will have in order to put on what we hope will recapture what a typical night at the speedway decades ago was all about, We hope to do things like duplicate a Solo and Sidecar handicap final as only a demonstration with even the commentators reading out the starters' names and their handicap mark like was the practice years ago. The bikes will be the first part of the programme with scratch and handicap demonstrations, followed by the Speedcars and then other car divisions to round out the night. We have so much planned for the night of celebration featuring 'fifties-'sixties music and former radio commercials of 50 years ago I have secured, but I must get some indication how many participants there will be on the day and night. Anyone still planning to enter can do so by contacting me or going to the website for the nomination details, Lander added. Nomination forms for demonstrators and/or static display participants are available on: www.vintagespeedwayfestival.com Payment to enter can be made via Pay-Pal, credit cards or direct debit. Payment information via EFT and all other details are on the Australian Vintage Speedway Festival website. The price of entry for those who just want to display their bike or car is $20 and that includes a place in the static display of machinery throughout the day. (The price of admission for everyone is $20). To participate in the full day/night of track activity it will cost $60.00. General admission is $20 (per person) and kids under 12 are free. General public gates open at 10am on Saturday. There will also be souvenir and memorabilia merchandise stalls as part of the Australian Vintage Speedway Festival. Bookings are now being taken for stall holders at a cost of $50 for the day. The event is open to ALL as part of the Australian Vintage/Classic Speedway National Body, Vintage Vehicles (as defined), Vintage Speedway Solos & Vintage Speedway Sidecars. The Australian Vintage/Classic Speedway National Body Constitution & Bi-laws will apply for the event. For more information phone David Lander: 0408222908. See more
