22.01.2022 For years people restoring cars & bikes etc have been using all sorts of chemicals to strip rust or paint from parts and even Molasses or Vinegar. A customer of ours Colin has brought this in to show us what happens to spring steel if the item is left in Vinegar to long. This is the rear spring from a VW engine lid and it had fallen off the hook that was holding it in his tank. Vinegar is great for removing rust off normal mild steel but because spring steel or high tensile steel has a high carbon content the Vinegar being a acetic acid breaks down the carbon. One month later when Colin had realised the spring was missing this what he found, a couple more weeks and it would of completely disappeared.

12.01.2022 Hi all, the shop will be closed this weekend and Monday as we travel down to Yarra Glen in Victoria for Day of the Volkswagen, I'm sure we will see many of you there and as always we offer to bring orders down to save on some freight. We will resume business as normal on Tuesday the 19th.

11.01.2022 Dear Customers, Due to issues caused by Covid-19, an increased work load is pushing back our booking in dates severely. Because of this, within reason we will not be able to perform any additional jobs brought up on the day that were not initially booked in as it is constantly delaying work we have already got going on. Due to our long wait periods there is more than enough time to call us at least 1-2 weeks in advance to make an adjustment to a booking which will be done if it does not impact other jobs. Thank you for understanding, From the team at Vintage Vee-Dub Supplies

07.01.2022 We appoligise for anyone trying to call through to the shop, we've had on and off problems with phone calls dropping out and through staff testing obviously not ringing through at all at the moment, we are working to fix it, again, but in the meantime if you can send enquiries through to [email protected] or our messenger, with your phone number we will try and get back to you ASAP Cheers

07.01.2022 Well that takes the cake, I just had a call from a VW Kombi owner that has been trying to sell his 75 Bay Camper and a couple had came to test drive the Kombi and possibly buy it, and while looking over it before the drive they realised the carburettors have been stolen off it while parked on his own driveway. What is this world coming to?

05.01.2022 WERE STILL OPEN Due to the current concerns regarding covid-19 outbreak, we are trying to limit customer access to the work shop and show room with exception to appointments, if you do need to come to the shop, it has been roped off at the roller door, we advise you bring a list of all the parts you wish to enquire about/purchase. It is however preferred that it be made by phone order and pre-paid if possible, we can then have your parts ready at the door for pickup. We a...re still shipping out with couriers and aus post at this time, there's doesn't seem to be any delays with these methods given the current situation. We will update here if the situation is to change. #flattenthecurve Thank you, Boris, Michael, George and Dean
