22.01.2022 There are some really amazing teachers and school staff that I have had the pleasure of meeting. The entire staff at Allanson Primary School are a fabulous example. So is Ms Tina Terranova, from Majella Primary School who at 9pm on a Sunday night, took the time to respond to an email about her students, regarding our final #SoftballBatterUp session tomorrow. ... It's a rare and very beautiful thing, when a teacher takes time out of her family and personal life, and does some thing so wonderful for their students. Please keep doing what you are doing - our kids need this now, more than ever! This is WHY I love my job/little business.

20.01.2022 There are so many life-lessons that can be learned from being involved with any sport. Developing lifelong friendships and relationships. Respect, for others (elders, coaches, club and association officials etc), equipment, facilities and your team mates.... Team work - it's not always about you but how you can do the best you can, for the benefit of others. Volunteering- giving your time freely to help others with the expectation of not getting anything in return. Coaching, scoring, waterboy/girl, umpiring, committee members and parent-helpers etc are essential to every sport. It's also a fantastic form of work experience for our young ones newly entering the workforce, but it is equally important as recent work experience and skill attainment for those of us re-entering the workforce. Independence and self-management. Being responsible for your own equipment/uniforms, hats water bottles etc. Regardless of your age, this is a crucial life skill and is some thing that you will find useful now and well into the future. Now is NOT the time for Mum and Dad to do everything for little Timmy/Suzy.. now is the perfect time to teach the little ones and the not-so-little ones to learn to do it for themselves regardless of their age. This will be an essential skill to when they reach school age and enter the workforce onwards. Learning new skills eg umpiring, coaching etc. Its a great way to learn new skills for free -especially when you volunteer. Sports is more than pay the money/fees, hit the ball and run, then go home. Its about community, connection and striving to be your best in all that you do.

06.01.2022 Today I washed my balls.. yes seriously I had to get the leftover shaving cream out of them. I threw them all in my washing machine with some Solumel and laundry liquid. Now they are squeaky clean and ready to use again.
