19.01.2022 A week and a half ago, visiting the Central Coast of California. Heading south and just past exits for Avila Beach, you come around the hill and see the ocean ! I took the next exit off 101 South and drove the frontage Shell Beach Road. The views are so pretty. 15.01.2022 Haunted ? When I visited the Mission San Miguel Arcangel a week and a half ago I did not know it has been a site of ghost apparitions. This photo is the back/inside verandahs, cool and peaceful on a very hot day. Looking up more background about this Mission online I came across a background about its hauntedness. It was the location of a brutal murder of all residents in 1851. Though most of the gang of murderers were brought to justice. But there have been ghost sighting...s, especially at night. I didn’t see or feel any ghosts the day I visited (it was just serenely peaceful, especially in the church), but reading about this aspect of history of this place was interesting. 14.01.2022 Success ! A pair of Rosellas are either taking up residence in the new box, or checking it out thoroughly. We think this is the pair that have in years past nested in the gable house. Maybe another pair has that one ? Or this pair have moved back here. They seem to like the perch we attached to the front and this tree offers closer vigilance positions for one bird (in front one of the birds sits watch from the tree in front yard, a bit further a range from the gable parrot house). #barossacalifornia #parrotbox #easternrosella #parrots #adelaiderosella #birdbox #birdhouse
