05.01.2022 Pop Up Sprinklers When you use a regular sprinkler head, you put it on top of the ground. So, for example, you might locate it in the middle of your lawn to water from a central point. Regular sprinklers affect garden maintenance. When you're mowing your lawn, you have to mow around the sprinkler if it is fixed. Then, you have to find a way to cut the grass close to the head. This adds time to your work. On the other hand, pop-up sprinklers don't affect your lawn's flat... footprint. They are stored underground, so you can mow over them, and they won't get in the way. An above ground sprinkler is immediately visible. Plus, depending on how you set the sprinkler up, you may end up with pipes running across the lawn to feed the head. If you like your garden to look good, then you may find this detracts from your view. This isn't a problem with pop-up sprinklers. They only come into sight when they work. The rest of the time you can't see them. And Lastly, they are kid and dog friendly, with them lowering themselves back into the ground as soon as they have stopped spraying, that eliminates any danger that a standard riser gives with tripping over and potentially hurt themselves.
