25.01.2022 WE NEED DRIVERS. We're launching our Viral Kindness Veggie Box program next Monday with our first divvy of 100 veggie boxes for the vulnerable in our Eastern Suburbs community. Alasdair Grant (program director) has secured a Randwick Community Hall and we have connected with all stake holders to develop safe procedure for the program which will be operational 5 days per week. We need delivery drivers with their own (largish) vehicle to pick up our bulk produce from Randwick... and deliver to the community hall, we also need drivers to pick the boxes up and deliver them to all parts of our Eastern Suburbs community. If you can help with driving please tag yourself in the comments below and Sylvia Della will get back to you by private message. Our highest priority is safety and we will be reviewing this essential service as further lockdown directives are issued by the government and health department.

13.01.2022 Our boxes finding needy homes.

09.01.2022 Very happy to announce that our local council has stepped up to offer us a fantastic packing and dispatch centre for our program, and will be teaming up with us to help get these care packages to those in need. Whilst there are a number of wonderful and long-established food programs operating in Sydney, we are finding that the offer of market-fresh fruit and vegetables fills a particular and much-welcomed niche: being able to cook and prepare their own nutritious meals repre...sents a special form of self-care and independence for those often struggling for both. It may sound like a cliché, but seeing first-hand how pleased our recipients are to receive these boxes truly warms the heart and helps us feel connected to each other. We are also thrilled that from tomorrow, on just the third day of our initiative, we will be scaling up to our full capacity of 100 boxes per day, 5 days per week. Thanks to our operations team, Jonas Mclallen (logistics), Sylvia Dellavedova (volunteers) and Linda Robson (community liaison) for making this happen, and in such a fun way, to our volunteer packers and drivers; and of course to David Walsman for conceiving this project and especially for bringing in Harris Farm Markets as our donor. We are also thankful to Andrew Grace, Nicholas Grace and Rebecca Powell for stepping up so graciously, and on such short notice, to give us temporary facilities this week - much appreciated. Best to all, Alasdair

06.01.2022 LAUNCH DAY! After a few teething problems we got off to a cracking start today. 100 veggie boxes, 5 times a week to vulnerable people isolated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Program director Alasdair Grant Jonas V McLallen and Sylvia Della put in a stellar first day effort. Big thank you to Rebecca Powell the owner of https://www.facebook.com/tluxenaturalliving/ for letting us use her shop in Bondi Beach, thanks to Andrew Grace and Nicholas Grace for securing the location for us.... Bucket loads of gratitude to O Donelle Apparels for sewing and providing our masks through her initiative https://www.facebook.com/groups/maskformates/ If you would like to volunteer to pack the produce or deliver the boxes please comment below, we have a lot of volunteering spots to fill going forward. Finally thanks to our local family fresh food retailer for supplying the daily produce Luke Harris

04.01.2022 We are raising funds to purchase masks, gloves and hand sanitiser for the Viral Kindness Veggie Box Program. We need 10 sets per day, 5 days a week going forward for our Volunteer packers, drivers and the vulnerable recipients of the boxes so they can receive them safely. They will be packing and delivering 100 veggie boxes per day, 5 days a week for the vulnerable and isolated in our community. Thanks for your support.
