19.01.2022 Over the last couple of months I have been photographing sunrise over the vineyard, partly to send to my family overseas, and partly to document what a wonderful part of the world we live in.

18.01.2022 Social distancing during vintage this year was an interesting exercise. We hand pick our grapes and this meant we had to maintain social distancing by having people pick in alternate rows with a row in between. Each person was allocated their own buckets (colour tagged) that they kept for the entire vintage and the only other people handling them were Michael and me, wearing gloves. They placed the buckets at the end of the row and we collected them whist maintaining distanc...ing. We emptied them into the large bins and returned the buckets to each picker. As you can imagine this slowed down the whole process considerably but everyone took on the extra requirements with good grace and we were able to finish in the daylight! The only thing the pickers said they really missed was the cakes and treats for morning tea and lunch. We were not allowed to provide these treats this year.

04.01.2022 Open Vineyard Weekend 2021 will be a 3 day event on 19, 20 and 21 February. Pencil in a visit to try our "world famous in Tasmania" vertical tastings, or try our special OVW releases of cellared wines.

01.01.2022 At the moment the Derwent Valley is experiencing fogs known as Bridgewater Jerry most mornings. It gives my sunrise photos quite an impressionist look.
