25.01.2022 A bitter sweet final speech session with Brock this week. I have loved working with him and his Mum to help him develop his speech and language skills in to the super talker he is now! I will miss this little man .... He taught me all about Paw Patrol

25.01.2022 Yesterday we met with a group of Psychologists and Behavior Support Specialists to discuss the connection between communication and 'behaviour issues'. An inability to communicate effectively is a major contributor to behavior challenges. Don't we all get frustrated when people don't understand what we are telling them? When we use of AAC with clients we take a big step towards understanding and achieving better outcomes.

18.01.2022 Today we are back seeing clients, wearing masks, social distancing and extra cleaning back in place. Our service area includes areas that were locked-down this past weekend we'll be taking precautions to ensure safety of our clients and team. Telehealth is available for those who would prefer that to face-to-face sessions. Talk to your Speech Pathologist to see if this is suitable for you.

16.01.2022 We are looking for a speech pathologist or even two to join our team. We have a clinic at Ormeau Hills and provide mobile services to Brisbane Southside, Logan and Gold Coast. We are flexible and we can make the caseload and location work for your location. So don't be mislead by SEEK saying Gold Coast. We are actually more from the Gold Coast through to Brisbane South. Our referrals are mostly from word of mouth and there are not enough hours in the day for us to continue to meet the demand. We need your help!

15.01.2022 A big week here at Virtually Speaking - we've opened a second office and welcomed a new Speech Pathologist. Kurt Pollock has joined the team and is available for new clients Monday to Friday across Logan and the Gold Coast. He will primarily based at the new SPRINGWOOD office at Unit 16, 29 Cinderella Drive, just behind Springwood Mall. Cassie, Quinn and Yasmin will share their time between Ormeau Hills, client visits and the Springwood office.

13.01.2022 It is Speech Pathology week. We love the theme this year of communicating with confidence. It sums up so well much of what we do at Virtually Speaking. It is so rewarding to work with people who have unfortunately not had access to services for years who now have the opportunity with NDIS funding. Helping them develop their skills to communicate with confidence is amazing!

11.01.2022 Exciting times for Virtually Speaking! Our team is growing with the additions of Quinn (Speech Pathologist) and Yasmin (Therapy Assistant and Secondary School Teacher). Extra appointment times will be available from next week. Those on our waiting list will be prioritised.

I have greater flexibility while some of my regulars are on holidays. If you are looking for ongoing therapy I currently have some availabilities in the morning, afternoon and early evening.

04.01.2022 Did you know... Virtually Speaking can (and do) perform formal Speech and Language assessments and provide ongoing therapy via tele-health? A great option for clients who need to remain extra vigilant in the current climate or those who can't get to one of our clinics. Message us to find out more.

04.01.2022 In light of the latest Queensland Health restrictions, Virtually Speaking will not be seeing clients in-person across the Greater Brisbane and Gold Coast areas on Monday 11th January. Telehealth appointments will go ahead as per usual. As an extra precaution today's appointments have also been postponed. Our team will be staying home, staying safe and using this time to undertake professional development courses online. We hope that our clients, their families and friends stay safe, follow the official advice and that we'll see you all again next week.

03.01.2022 What a fabulous free resource. I love that they have a visual and a Auslan sign for each activity. Some pages are also suitable for an adult including the mealtime one.
