20.01.2022 GREATER BRISBANE COVID19 RESTRICTION UPDATE Queenslanders have done a remarkable effort over the past three days which has given our public health uni...ts time to do their vital work. Greater Brisbane restrictions from 6:01pm, Monday 11 January to 1am, Friday 22 January For the next 10 days, the following COVID19 restrictions apply for the Greater Brisbane area which includes anyone living in the following council areas: Logan City Council Ipswich City Council Redland City Council Brisbane City Council Moreton Bay Regional Council. People are permitted to be outside their homes for any purpose Restrictions on aged care, disability accommodation and hospital visitors remain in place MASKS Must carry a face mask when you leave your home. Must wear a mask in public indoor spaces. Masks to be worn by hospitality workers who have a customer facing role. Patrons do not have to wear mask in a hospitality venue, but must electronically sign in. Must to be worn in indoor workplaces where it is safe to do so and social distancing is not possible. Masks are recommended when outdoors and you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people. Masks are not required for outdoor exercise or when driving in a private vehicle. GATHERINGS AND EVENTS Gatherings up to 20 people in homes and public spaces. Weddings up to 100 attendees (with dancing permitted). Funerals up to 100 attendees. BUSINESSES AND VENUES Retail dining allowed seated eating and drinking allowed. Indoor 1 person per 4 sqm. Smaller venues up to 200 sqm 1 person per 2 sqm (up to a maximum of 50). Outdoor 1 person per 2 sqm. No dancing (except at weddings). Indoor concert and theatre venues 50% capacity or 1 person per 4 sqm whichever is greater. Outdoor stadiums 50% capacity. REMEMBER TO ALWAYS Maintain physical distancing (1.5m). Maintain good hand hygiene. Stay at home if you are sick and get tested. Electronically check in at venues. 12.01.2022 Who is looking forward to the new financial year? ME!!! FYI to Victorian businesses - the new Industrial Manslaughter laws come into effect today. Up to $16.5 million in fines and up to 20 years in prison can be handed down to duty holders for negligently causing a workplace death. This follows the successful prosecution of a Brisbane company in June under the Qld industrial manslaughter laws, securing a $3 million fine and jail sentences for the directors.... 11.01.2022 Re-start Task 8: Risk assessment review time. Things have changed, processes are different. There are new hazards and new ways of controlling them. So it's a great time to review and update your risk assessments. Risk assessments can cover lots of different areas of your business, but for re-opening, concentrate on the safety, health, hygiene and other COVID Safe hazards and controls, and processes that have had to change.

Whether it's online, face to face or both, staff need to know their new roles, expectations, how to manage customer conflicts, what to clean and when and how to manage the COVID Safe and WHS requirements in the workplace. Note that some industries are required to have all staff undertake the approved COVID Safe online training, but it's also important to provide venue-specific training on the detail...s of how the requirements are being implemented in your workplace. Also, food handler training may also need to be done or refreshed for staff in food handling roles.
