08.01.2022 Throwback Thursday The virtual classroom would have been a pipe dream for these teachers who worked at The Correspondence School, the precursor of Virtual School Victoria, in the 1960s. Around 90 teachers worked here then compared to over 200 today. In a vast contrast to today, where VSV teachers conduct online and face-to-face learning and support student learning through the building of relationships, every day is correction day for these teachers.... ‘Fifty Years Via the Mail-Bag', published in The Educational Magazine, 1964

02.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC Week https://www.naidoc.org.au/ The land that we now call Australia has been inhabited by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for thousands of years, thousands of generations. Virtual School Victoria is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We extend that respect to all Traditional Owners of the lands on which our students study across Australia. Using this map https://aiatsis.gov.au/explore/map-indigenous-australia you can discover who the Traditional Owners are in the land that you live on. Feel free to share what you find out in the comments below. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek2020
