24.01.2022 There is finally a new Parent Visa available... parents are now eligible for this visa even if only one child lives in Australia. Email me for more information.

12.01.2022 New Parent Visa Parent/s eligible if at least one child in Australia As of July 2019 a new parent visa has become available. This visa enables many parents who were previously not eligible for a parent visa to come and live in Australia on a long term basis. Providing the parent/s have at least one child permanently living in Australia, they are eligible. This is regardless of how many other children the parent/s have living outside Australia. Maximum stay under this vi...sa is 5 years, with the ability to obtain a second visa, so effectively a 10 year stay in Australia, at this stage. This visa is far cheaper than the permanent parent visa option, and can be granted far more quickly. The visa can be granted as quickly as within 3 months of application lodgement. I am happy to have a free over the phone chat with anyone interested in more information, or assistance with this type of visa. Just send me a message. 11.01.2022 Visa Update Covid 19 (Corona Virus) Can you still get a Visa for Australia? YES, the Department of Home Affairs are still granting visas to Australia at this time. There are currently additional entry restrictions and these are summarized below:... People entering Australia from overseas, must self-isolate themselves for 14 days when they arrive. This basically means they must remain in their house or accommodation and cannot go out for 14 days after arrival in Australia. If you are not a citizen or permanent resident of Australia and you have travelled to any of the listed countries (currently China, Iran, South Korea, Italy), you may not be able to enter Australia at all, or will not be able to enter Australia unless you have been in another country (not on the list), for 14 days since leaving a listed country. If you are in this situation you should seek advice before trying to enter Australia. In reality most visas (except for tourist visas) take the Department of Home Affairs at least 2 months to process in any event. Therefore if you wish to obtain an Australian Visa in the near future there is no reason not to start the process now. There is no need to wait until the threat of Covid 19 is over. If you are currently in Australia on a visa that is about to expire and you wish to stay in Australia, you should seek advice now as to how to stay in Australia legally. Staying in Australia beyond the expiry of your visa (even at this time) may adversely impact any future visa or citizenship application. If you have questions about specific visas please feel free to email me at [email protected]

04.01.2022 Becoming an Australian Citizen 1) Are you a Permanent Resident? 2) Have you been living in Australia for more than 4 years?... If you answered yes to these two questions then you are probably eligible for Australian Citizenship. There are lots of reasons to become a citizen. For some people the most important is obtaining an Australian Passport. An Australian Passport enables you to visit around 170 different countries without obtaining a visa for that country. Also if you do get into trouble while overseas, you can obtain help through the Australian Consular Emergency 24 hour centre. In many cases you will be able to maintain your other citizenship/s and passport/s. Other benefits of Citizenship include: Your children can become citizens, and often automatically; You will never again need to obtain another Australian Visa; No upfront university fees, as you can get a loan tertiary education; You can vote at elections; You can run for Parliament; You can join the Australian Defence Force; and You can serve on a jury. If you think you are eligible or would like to know more about the process, send me an email at [email protected]
