21.01.2022 Update from Immigration, South Australia. The Government of South Australia has been advised of a limited number of interim allocation places for the States General Skilled and Business Migration Program for 2020/21, which will be prioritised to support South Australias economic and public health recovery. The full nomination allocations for 2020/21 will be determined later in the year as part of the 2020/21 Budget process.... Given the limited number of available nominations, South Australias program requirements and application processes for the General Skilled and Business Programs are currently being finalised, with a view to applications being open in late August 2020. Based on direction from the Department of Home Affairs, applications will be prioritised according to: High quality applications within the Business Innovation and Investment Program, with those who have already lodged an Intention to Apply given priority consideration. Applicants critical to supporting South Australias response to the COVID19 pandemic, including individuals providing critical or specialist medical services, critical skills required to maintain the supply of essential goods and services; or delivering services in sectors critical to Australias economic recovery. Early consideration to onshore applicants that satisfy the above criteria. Further guidance will be available on this website next week.

15.01.2022 International graduates studying in a regional area. From 2021, Temporary Graduate visa (TGV) holders (post-study work stream) who have graduated from a regional educational institution and have lived in regional Australia on their first TGV will be eligible for a second TGV. Those eligible for a second TGV will be required to remain in a regional area for the duration of their new visa.... Eligibility will include international students who studied at a regional campus of a metropolitan university. International graduates who have studied and lived in Category 2 will be eligible for an additional year on a second Temporary Graduate visa. International graduates who have studied and lived in Category 3 will be eligible for an additional 2 years on a second Temporary Graduate visa. The initiative will provide an additional incentive for international students to study at a regional institution and to live in regional areas post-study, boosting diversity and prosperity in regional Australia. At the same time, it will help ease growing infrastructure pressures in our major cities. There is no change to Student visas.
