24.01.2022 494 VISA FOR PERTH Today I wanted to write a short article about the new regional 494 visa (otherwise known as the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa). This is a new (well Nov 2019) and enhanced employer-sponsored visa to assist regional Australia.... Fantastic how do I apply? Well firstly you and your employer would first need to be sure you are eligible. The 494 visa has many benefits. For example, 1. It offers a long visa (5 year temporary visa) and the option of Permanent Residency after 3 years, 2. It is priority processed by Immigration. 3. Perth is classed as regional for the 494 visa (those over east come on over (after COVID obviously)) 4. Holders of the 494 visa will have access to Medicare 5. Work rights will automatically be attached to Bridging Visa As. The two main drawbacks are: 1. At the time of application you will need to have been employed in the nominated occupation for at least 3 years on a full-time basis and at the level of skill required for the occupation (Not easy for students) 2. Generally, you will need a full Skills Assessment (not a 485 assessment) (not easy for some occupations eg chefs). Anyway there is a brief summary of the new 494 Visa. For more information or to get in touch please click on the link below. To your visa success. Andrew EP McAuley Visa Makers CONTACT US

19.01.2022 Heads Up!! A subclass 820 visa will cease to be in effect if the application for a Subclass 801 visa is refused. This will create a problem for the 820 holder who is overseas when the refusal occurs as they will not hold a visa to re-enter Australia. In addition, to lodge a valid Administrative Appeals Tribunal application the person must return to Australia. The bottom line is be careful when booking holidays close to decision time for the 801. Hopefully the worst will not happen but better to aware of this. Andrew - Visa Makers Online

09.01.2022 Hi Everyone, you may have read in the news yesterday about the push for a shake-up of mental health services to help International students studying in Australia. The Government announced $200,000 for a new research project to look at mental health support and services for international students today. I do not believe this will be enough. International students continue to die by suicide in Australia, the number of deaths is hard to measure. However, it was found that 27 i...nternational students died by suicide between 2009 and 2015 in Victoria alone but that number was likely to be an underestimation. Of the 27 deaths, they found failing grades to be a factor in 10 of the suicides. For five of these students, their main fear was disclosing the failure to their parents, while three others feared their student visas would not be renewed. If you know anyone who may need to help please reach out to them. I have posted some useful websites below for more information: https://www.lifeline.org.au/ https://www.suicidecallbackservice.org.au/ https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ Thanks Andrew (source: SBS)

01.01.2022 Breaking News!! More great news for visa applicants in Perth. (and the Gold Coast). Perth has been designated as a Regional area for the new skilled visa changes coming on the 16th November 2019. This may mean Perth can be used for the new 491 Visa (Skilled Work Regional) and new Subclass 494 Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Visa. It should also mean that those who study in Perth can obtain an extra 5 points for studying in Perth. In addition, it could be that those applying for the Temporary Graduate Visa 485 may now be eligible for a 3 year visa, instead of 2. Confirmation will follow in due course. 01.01.2022 Morning everyone, yesterday I was asked to talk on ABC Radio about the upcoming English language changes to Partner Visas. In addition, the Minister has announced that applicants will be able to demonstrate this through, for example, the completion of 500 hours of free English language classes through the AMEP.
