24.01.2022 Despite the significant progress Vision 2020 Australia and its members have made over the past 20 years in closing the gap for vision, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are still three times more likely to be blind or have vision loss than other Australians. Last year the sector came together to develop 'Strong eyes, strong communities: a five year plan for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander eye health and vision' that charts a course to close the gap for visio...n and achieve a world class system of eye health and vision care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. This NAIDOC Week we recommit to a genuine partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People and organisations, as we continue to work together to implement this plan. https://www.vision2020australia.org.au//strong-eyes-strong
