22.01.2022 From 1888 up until 1997 when Morgan became part of the Mid Murray Council, Morgan had its own identity as a council area, known as the Morgan District Council During the 1980’s the local community was approach to be involved in creating an emblem for the Council. The emblem above was designed by the then, local Police Officer, Dennis Edwards. The emblem depicts what was thought to be the 5 of the major industries within the Morgan district at that time. The ram’s head represented the sheep and wool industry, Oranges and grapes the food and wine industry. The Paddle wheel and steering wheel, the shipping and paddle boat era. The Drive Wheel and cable represented the Highways Department dockyard and ferry. The hydrant and pipeline signified the Morgan Whyalla pipeline.

17.01.2022 On Wednesday 23rd September, the Port of Morgan MMC volunteers enjoyed a sausage sizzle luncheon in the historic Pendle’s Tea Rooms. Around 25 of our valued and hard-working volunteers were thanked by Mayor Dave Burgess and CEO Ben Scales, for their continued efforts and hard work and assistance with ongoing projects. ... Without the ongoing support of this amazing group, Morgan would not be able to boast of the broad range of projects that have been completed and the projects that are still underway, including the restoration of the PS Canally. This group is responsible for ensuring that the Landseer Museum, Old wharf Craft Shop and VIO continue to open on a daily basis, thus ensuring that Morgan has a range of options for our locals and visitors to enjoy. A sincere thankyou is extended to each and every one of our valued volunteers. For more information in becoming a volunteer contact the Morgan Visitor Information Centre or by phoning 0447 495 138.
