25.01.2022 Feels good to be making again. It was an awful day here in Perth. Bushfires burning down peoples homes, the air filled with choking smoke and no sound, not even birds. It's eerie and creepy. Ceramics helps me escape the world and.. well, you can never have too many spoons...

18.01.2022 My studio was out of action yesterday as there are a few cracks in the new concrete floor which my awesome builder is fixing. So, instead of doing claywork, I thought I would try to develope some designs in watercolour. I wanted soft pastel colours that would lend themselves to glaze but as you can see that didn't happen. I used to paint in acrylics and always used high key colours and that is proving a hard habit to break...

10.01.2022 Recently I bought 3 books. Like, actual books with paper pages and spines and weight. It's been so long since I have last done that. It was so nice just standing in the bookstore reading and letting my brain relax and wander. I purchased 2 shaun tan books and a technical watercolour one. Now I can immerse myself in the brilliance of Shaun Tan's drawings and stories while struggling with watercolour technique...snail as evidence.

03.01.2022 Well I did it. I made a 3 piece mold! I made heaps of mistakes like forgetting to cut keyholes and leave a hole in the top but i can fix that. Now just need to wait for it to dry...
