Not only is this park a nature lovers dream, but also a dream for the little ones. With so much space to run around and also a new state of the art playground, you will be able to keep the little ones entertained for hours. A shaded BBQ area is right next to the play area for the parents convince with a water station to keep everyone hydrated also. Still within the park, there is also the famous Captains’ Walk that features all past and the current Australian Cricket Captains. 04.01.2022 Wheat . Wheat is widely grown in Australia, mainly for flour milling. It is a grass widely cultivated for its seed, a cereal grain which is a worldwide staple food. . The "Milestones Sculptures" commemorate the significance of the wheat industry in the Cootamundra and Wallendbeen areas. It is an area that has seen some of the nation`s finest high quality award winning wheat crops.... . The sculptures are made from cast concrete and use patterns that represent wheat stalks cut from compressed fibrous cement, painted in the soft colour of wheat. Each sculpture is topped with an acrylic panel inlaid with the motif of a huge head of wheat. . Fibre optics have been used to light the sculptures making them visible from dusk until dawn. At night the colours of green and gold can be seen as they simulate the growth cycle and the subtle movement of a dense crop of wheat. . It has a red head, neck and breast, with yellowish to greenish upper parts, a yellow underbody and a yellow-green to blue-green rump, with a red undertail. The shoulders are bright blue. Females are usually similar to males, but sometimes duller and young birds are even duller and can be aged by their bill colour, which is yellow or orange, changing to off-white when mature.

Starting at the Cootamundra Heritage Centre, you will be overwhelmed with the information and history at the centre, with few artefacts on Sir Donald Bradman to get you started off. Just across the road is Albert Park, one of the many Cootamundra Cricket ovals. Turning down onto Adams Street, you follow this all the way until you reach Bradman’s Birthplace which will be o...n your right-hand side (89 Adams Street). The Volunteers at the centre will inform you on the great history and guide you through all the artefacts donated to Donald’s Birthplace Museum. Upon leaving the Museum, still on Adams street and just around the corner is Bradman’s oval- another Cricket oval in town (151 Adams Street). From here you want to get to your final destination, the Captains walk which is located in Jubilee Park on the corner of Wallendoon and Olney Streets.
