16.01.2022 We were extremely proud to be able to support our service user Pauline's lovely friends, Tracey & Orlaith in their endeavour to raise money for Hoist Away to build another unit. Pauline is diagnosed with primary & progressive MS which has meant that she can struggle to enjoy the simple things that we all take for granted every day. Going on holiday can bring a lot of stress, especially as Pauline is now confined to a wheelchair. HoistAway is a holiday let, exisiting to facil...itate anyone who requires the use of hoists or other specialised equipment, to enjoy a 'break by the sea' with their family, based in Culdaff, Co. Donegal, Ireland. Tracey & Orlaith both took part in this years Kiltwalk on the 18th of August and as of this point have been able to raise a breathtaking 4,646! This brings them to the brink of their 5000 target which is a simply amazing feat. Congratulations to both of you for an fantastic act of charity! 04.01.2022 COVID-19 These last few days have shown what a truly dedicated and hard-working team we are privileged to be a part of. Our staff are by definition, at the front-line of what is now transpiring to be larger than anyone thought. However, please stay positive and follow any and all guidance provided by official bodies only. Our sources are: Health Improvement Scotland, Care Inspectorate and Scottish Care. Visiting Angelz are taking a number of steps to contribute in the fight t...o prevent transmittion of Coronavirus. This will include the delivery of our prepared sanitation packs to our Service Users homes for our staffs use every visit. We have included a box of powder-free gloves, a pack of large Kleenex hand towels and a double container of both soap and hand sanitizer. 02.01.2022 We are delighted to present our new Stay Mobile Stay Connected campaign. The film was made possible by the kind donation of time and effort from Media Co-op. Th...is film takes some of the key messages and encouragement from earlier films we made with some new input added by the indubitable Norrie Mathieson who recorded new footage from his home. We know that the lockdown is necessary for our safety and is protecting older people from Covid19 but we need to ensure that when the doors do open again that we have made sure the over 70’s are still fit and confident enough to join in. People in the Roar communities are getting regular advice on exercises and calls to boost their motivation and confidence but not everyone is so fortunate. We hope to get this message out across Scotland and beyond. Let’s start now to make sure older people Stay Mobile and Stay Connected. See more
