23.01.2022 Well we have reached the end of our Lockhart NSW trip. Welcome to Part 5. This is not Silo art but I thought it would be nice to share. In the Greens Gunyah Mus...eum is the Doris Golder Wool art Gallery. The pictures are created using 100% natural wool by local artist, Doris Golder, and are the only artwork of their kind in Australia. Washed, combed and undies, Doris has been using one of Lockhart Shire’s most historical and important resources - natural wool - to create an amazing collection of portraits and pictures since the early 1980’s. Doris spent over 14 years successfully creating these rare pieces of art, during which time over 30 portraits were completed. From Slim Dusty and Greg Norman to Bob Hawke, Tim Fisher and many more famous faces, Doris has captured their very essence by using this unique and highly skilled mediums. Portraits have graced the walls of Parliament House in Canberra. The Green’s Gunyah Museum is well worth a look if you have the opportunity to visit Lockhart NSW. Also they have a gallery diplicting the life of Tim Fisher, former Deputy Prime Minister, and local boy from Boree Creek. Below are a few shot of Doris’s work. Hope you enjoy.

18.01.2022 It's not everyday you see your local butcher appearing in the visual arts, but Riverina artist Raeleen Pfeiffer saw the the potential in Tim Driscoll's beard. Come and meet Raeleen in her studio, on the farm, and hear the story of her arts journey. And you can meet the butcher himself as well. What local stories do you know, that might lend themselves to artworks?

14.01.2022 Some weeds make really pretty pictures. Paterson's curseis native to Mediterranean Europe and northern Africa. It was both accidentally and deliberately introduced to Australia in the 1850s and by 1890 it was showing potential as a major weed.Paterson’s curse now occurs in all States and Territories in Australia. However, the most serious infestations occur in pastoral regions of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and in the south-west region of Western Australia where a winter rainfall climate dominates. #visitlockhartshire #visitriverina #visitnsw #patersonscurse #salvationjane #sunset #regionalnsw #countryliving #landscape #countrydrive #weed #murrumbidgee
