13.01.2022 Where are you getting your fill of the outdoors today? Today we are in the Mount Cole State Forest starting at the Glut Camping ground. Before getting to our destination, we stopped in Beaufort at Beaufort Christmas Shop, Gifts and Cafe where we picked up a picnic filled with sandwiches, quiches and baked goods to enjoy in the natural surroundings of #mountcole. After lunch we stretched our legs by walking the Grevillea trail which is a 2.2km walk that takes you to Richards campground. The walk took approximately 1 hour one way before we returned to the Glut by retracing our steps. https://visitpyrenees.com.au/seeanddo/grevillia-walk/

12.01.2022 Have you explored the Borella walk in Mount Cole State Forest? Running between Chinamans Campground and Ben Nevis Picnic Area, this 5km (10km return) walk winds through lush green rainforest, towering trees and along cliff tops where you get to take in breathtaking views. You can view all walks in the Mount Cole State Forest, just 30 minutes from Ballarat, on our website. https://visitpyrenees.com.au/seeanddo/borella-walk/

12.01.2022 Pyrenees is home to some spectacular boutique wineries such as Equus at Moonambel Wines . The cellar door is a modern piece of architecture perched atop a hill with stunning views overlooking the vineyard and Pyrenees Ranges. The wines are worth the road trip and I can guarantee that you will be heading home with a few bottles in the boot of the car. A real surprise at the cellar door is the wooden horse museum. It’s a lifetime’s collection of author and artist, Patricia Mu...llins. Curated and interpreted with the finesse of any of the great museums, and just a fascinating place to wander. The collection changes regularly to accommodate a particular theme, and is surely worth the trip on its own merits. #unpluginthepyrenees https://visitpyrenees.com.au/things-to-do/wineries/

12.01.2022 Picture yourself here this weekend, strolling through the vineyards in the Pyrenees. Food and drink are at the heart of everything Pyrenees and we love to brag about it. 11.01.2022 Doesn’t this photo make you feel warm and relaxed. The staff at Sallys Paddock Winery will make you feel very welcome as you sample the wines they have been creating for over 40 years. You can also buy their wine online if you can’t quite get there just yet. Call ahead to book and ask about their platters and lunch specials. Sallys paddock is a destination on its own but we recommend making it part of a road trip as you taste your way around the Pyrenees wineries. https://visitpyrenees.com.au/things-to-do/wineries/

10.01.2022 Spring is our favourite time of year in the Pyrenees. A wander through Mount Cole State Forest will have you dwarfed by trees and surrounded by lush green ferns. Right about now, we’re seeing splashes of colour all over the place, with dewy mornings and the perfect amount of rain and sunshine delivering a genuine spring spectacular! Better yet, this spot’s located just 30 minutes from Ballarat, making it the perfect escape.
