10.01.2022 "To all our competitors, sponsors, volunteers and friends, 2020 has certainly been a different year so far, with the cancellation of many events and other sport...ing programs changed in ways we never thought possible. Whilst it was disappointing not to be able to have the Orroroo Half Marathon in March 2020, we do hope to be able to host the event in 2021. All of our sponsors have kindly held over their support for the next event and many of our regular participants have held over registrations too, and we thank you all for your trust and support in our organisation. WE ARE PLANNING THE 2021 ORROROO HALF MARATHON FOR THE 28 MARCH 2021. Whilst we are unsure of how things will be standing in March 2021 as far as COVID restrictions are concerned, we hope we will have the opportunity to put on a good community event using whatever COVID requirements we need to make. This is just a heads up for our competitors, friends and sponsors to let you know we are keen to get our show back on the road and hopefully the next 6 months will allow us to be able to plan a fun and successful road event! 06.01.2022 We bet that when you think of the Southern Flinders Ranges, fishing doesn't come to your mind. What if we told you that there are plenty of places that you coul...d drop your line, like the Beetaloo Reservoir? Located just east of Port Pirie, you can fish for golden perch, silver perch and Murray cod off the shore. Pack a picnic to make a day of it or stay at Beetaloo Grove , explore neighboring towns. You could have lunch at the Stonehut Bakery and Petting Zoo, saying hello to the residents of course before heading to enjoy Golden North Ice Cream in Laura. Fun fact: this reservoir was built around 1886 and could fill 1500 Olympic swimming pools! Please note, you will need a permit to fish from Beetaloo Reservoir which can be obtained online.
